Fernando Llorente

Post by Cjay »

Should we try a loan for him in January?

Just scored a great goal actually for Spurs vs West Ham.
He is class, loves Bielsa, not really wanted at Spurs and out of contract in the Summer.

34 in February but comfortably better then what we have (no offense to Roofe Bamford and co).

Totally different to them as well and Bielsa teams traditionally had a great big target man.

Gignac Batistuta Llorente himself etc.

Could he be our Mitrovic?

If Spurs would be prepared to let him out on loan then definitely yes, we should try and sign him.

We're talking class here.....

But we won't as we only sign average premiership on-loan players who struggle to make it into our championship first-team

If we could, then we should, as he knows Bielsa-ball and would offer something different up top, but I don't see it happening. As Gurj said, he's out of our league in terms of wages unless Spurs agreed to pick up most of the tab and they're unlikely to do that given his age and where he is in their pecking order.

Not so sure, have him not playing and pay him £50 k per week, or he plays for us and we pay £20k of it

I keep scrolling past this on the general chat forum and I keep seeing Leonard Fournette...which makes me stop and wonder who's posting about Leonard Fournette and why.

No idea if the player is any good though and have no opinion on whether we sign him or not

Spurs have no other back up for Kane so they won't let him go. Wages will be huge too.

Probably just paper talk but still think Llorente isnt beyond the realms of possibility if there is flexibility on both sides.

Radz and us realising Llorente is a top class player who would deserve a good wage.

But Llorente also recognising where we are and what stage of his career he is at.

Despite a frosty end to there relationship Llorente has never said a bad word about Bielsa and is quoted as saying "he is a good person, he shows us his love".

Nows Radz chance to show his ambition and Bielsa's chance to show his influence.

Could be our Mitrovic, if we pulled it off. And if there is even any truth in this story! He'd certainly offer something different to Roofe and the (hopefully) returning Bamford, but still think it's a long shot that we get him in.

Maths made easy.
Llorente + Heaton/Forster + Experienced CB = Top 2 finish
