Just think its amazing that a day after a voicemail he had watched 7 of our games

How many managers would do that for a 2nd division team in another country.

First opportunity I've had today to watch that clip......excellent Rab

Nice little plug for our two most improved players there, Kemar Roofe & Kalvin Phillips :-D

What a man Bielsa is.....Is he a man or is he a god ?

He is god in my eyes :)

We are playing the best football I've seen from a Leeds United team since our premiership days '63

Yes I want promotion but my demands from Hecky's time at Leeds was for our players

  • to show more effort & make us more competitive

Bielsa has not only done that in the nine games he's been at ER he has taken us to another level, a standard of football I never thought I see again from a Leeds side, fans are now getting value for money when they go through the turnstiles.

  • I now have hope
  • I now expect us to win games
  • I now get a buzz again in anticipation of watching Bielsa's Leeds

And I fully expect us to react very differently to a loss than we have in previous years.

I really thought we had excuses at Swansea where we played with no specialised CB, lost the energy of Ayling down the right as he was pretending to be a CB

Millwall was a decent performance especially without some key players

Both Swansea & Millwall games the balance & fluidity of our team suffered due to the missing players

Only downer for me was the Brum game, even at 0-2 down although I couldn't see us winning the game I did think if we scored early in the 2nd half we could grab a draw. Unfortunately with so many players out of form & the cheating antics of Brum plus a poor ref conspired against us.

wasnt that good against rotherham. we struggled for large periods especially the first half. yes we won the game but the performance wasnt that great.

The Millers parked their bus in our half as did Boro' which makes it very difficult for any side to break down no matter how good a team is. Even the likes of Man City, Liverpool, Spurs, etc struggle in some games. I enjoyed the game so it can't have been that bad

My match rating - 7.0 out of 10

Our stats for the Rotherham game suggest it wasn't a poor performance.

I agree stats can be misleading '63

Poor first-half but we were much better & in total control throughout the second-half

id personally would put the norwich and the preston performances well above the rotherhams . i think we have to agree to disagree on this . looking through rose tinted glasses spring to mind ! end of the day its all about opinions 64.

I just came across a Spanish video about Bielsa. I did not understand a word of it.
Well that is not true there was one word I did understand and that was BIELSA.
I don't think we fully understand the passion he has generated in Argentina and Chile.
You get commentators fighting in the studio over him. You get players singing
his praises, you get fans chanting his name at matches, you get flags with his name
on it. I really encourage you to have a look at this video, you don't need to understand
what they are saying, I promise you that the passion and fervour will speak to you more
than the mere eloquence of words... and you will see Bielsa smiling and cracking jokes
that has everyone laughing, and even singing the tango. We have a gem on our hands,
and we do not fully recognise what we have got.

Well, let me try to make the translation...
Marcelo Bielsa, a Technician that can provoke love, and can provoke hate
- The worst DT of the last time!
- Bielsa is the best DT that had in the last 40 years the argentinian team
- For BBC, is the best DT in the world ….”GO TO EAT s**t!”
He have loyal fans..
Fans: “by the hand of the Mad Bielsa, we all will walk around!!”.. (because champions walk around the field with the cup)
He have enemies:
- Bielsa is good for Argentina, not for argentinian football
- You deal with Boelsa…
- He must go out… how is that Bielsa doesn’t need to understand.. are you crazy kid?
Is not a friend of the journalist…
Bielsa: “journalism the only thing that teach about football to the public, is just about geometry, 442, 3412, that don’t need explanation out of the numbers”
He woke up passions, and his legacy is indubitable
- Video of the goal of Chile vs Argentina in the clasifications for the WC
For something he is call The Mad
Bielsa: because exagerations of my behavior, of the meanings in the dictionary I choose the softest
In his beginign he was noticed for the “Newells carajo” when he was young..
- Video of the penalties when NOB was champion
Maybe the biggest smudge in his career was the elimination in the first round in Japan Korea, he had hard critics from Niiembro (famous argentinian journalist) “Bielsa no”, and also from Martín Liberman, “Bielsa did what no one believe, he was worst than Passarella”, and from many others “who is this guy, who the f… is Bielsa?”…. and other guy screaming ¿¿??... no one likes see Argentina eliminated in the first round of a WC … “so… (son of a b..) that was birn a thousand times..” He had sentences to think.
Bielsa: To the ignorants, who lost is useless because like that is planified..
He leaves Argentina because he had no power, and he answered like this the question of a journalist..
“is not a bit poor that news tomorrow will have the title that the DT leaves because had no energy?”
Bielsa: “and what you want me to invent?”
“I don’t know, the title”
Bielsa “that is your job, work in that”
“you don’t imagine that… ¿¿??”
Bielsa: “a strong sickness can be, if that is the title tomorrow, I will buy the newspaper”
In Chile, he leave WONDERFUL moments, WONDERFUL!! WONDERFUL!!
Goal of Chile vs Colombia, in Colombia, 2-4
Bielsa “keep the same! Keep the same!”
Goals of Chile vs Suiza
He ask to Estrada (chilean player) … who you think you are?
He turn crazy to Matias Fernandez “what happens now Matias!! Always something happening!” (because in a game, he took too long to fix an small injury)
And he get mad with journalist, with many of them
Bielsa: “tactical doubts?... you don’t understand anything”
“that is a joking attitude?”
“you made a more uncomfortable question that the previous one”
“Now I see that you give me that with an intention…”
“is an invitation to demagogy, your question”
He bring Chile to the WC of southafrica
He brings ME to Southafrica! I was send there but I have problems with drunk guys…
(he shows a video when was a bit drunk)
When he leaves Chile, as always was a visionary,
Bielsa “the worst is to came, before was nothing to take…”
He didn’t believe in the bold guy (previous president of federation now in the FBI hands)
Jadue “I have clean hands” (now is done to go to jail)
We miss Marcelo Bielsa….
Flag of the chilean fans in the last game of Bielsa in Chile “Mister Marcelo Bielsa, Chile thank you”
Bielsa: “for me being in Chile was one of the happier moments in my life”
In Bilbao he lived many moments… very friends of the kids.
They count even how many steps he made in the coaching area..
Bielsa “the step 12th is shorter, and the 13th is more long normally..”
He fighted again with journalist
Bielsa: “is a question absolutly tendentious”
“the question really… all this conversation is useful”
Journalists “that happen when we go to moved waters… where we don’t have to go” “we should be careful with Bielsa”…
They said that he was not effective… hard words
Bielsa. “when you said effective, about what are you speaking?”
Alexis: “what efficacy is the lack? When we have chances, we should not to be worried.”
In Marsella they love him, LOVE HIM
After so many years in his ankles, he get tired, old, he should sit in a basket, but he burn his ass..
He leaves an unforgetable speech in the dressing room of Marsella
Bielsa “accept injustice, because everything have harmony in the end”
And in Leeds is singing Tango
Most of the players loves him, just say great things about Bielsa
Carlos Carmona (chilean MF) “I thank football because put me with Bielsa, I learn a lot”
Ortega (River, Argentina team), “one of the best humans I ever meet”
Diego Milito: “he opened my head, he made me understand, Marcelo Bielsa”
Pochetino: “The one who made me competitive close to my limits”
Crespo: “is a great motivator”
Kili Gonzalez: “a best football player, he made it”
Ander Herrera: “the Athletic of Bielsa, an Athletic that try to win all games, we don’t have fear “
Claudio Bravo “is a person hard to understand, but like DT is the best of the world”
2 titles with NOB, 1 with Velez Sarfield, a golden medal in the olympic games, few titles for his experience, but is legacy shows that is more important sometimes than win a title, leave something, is to inspire. and he without a doubt, achieve that.
Bielsa: “I don’t want to be exclusivilly because I win titles, no?”
“the only thing that Im interested, is that the public become more cult”
Zamorano: “the most important that Bielsa will leave in Chile is a style, a phylosophy”
Bielsa “when I went to Chile, I went because I can give something different to what Chile had..”
“I didn’t came to try this work moved for money”
Harold Myne Nichols (former president of Federation that brings Bielsa to Chile) “He achieve to make us believe that we can have in mind if we work with discipline, rigor and humble”
Any crazy thing about Bielsa not included here? Please, comment.
