Leeds United v Rotherham Official matchday thread

Post by Genghers »

Unless there are any injuries we don't know about, it'll be the same team as Derby I suspect.

Rotherham will be a different challenge, as they're likely to be more compact/defend deeper than Derby or Stoke did.

Hopefully we can still create the space for our forwards to get in behind.

Was thinking the same, Rotherham will probably park the bus in their own half to stem the flow of our attacking style, the Millers would be playing a dangerous game as I do think we have enough creativity now to break down any defence

Key is to be able to have the creativity to break them down and also having people who can shoot accurately, and with power, from distance as you can't park the bus against a team where someone can score consistently from 30 yards.

Klich is prepared to have a pop at goal from distance. Also if Rotherham sit back & defend they are likely to give more free-kicks away outside their box which maybe dangerous as we have Hernandez & Douglas who are free-kick specialists

Different sort of challenge.

Rotherham will sit back, Ipswich couldn't break them down.

They have a striker who has 3 or 4 inches on our two cbs (which worries me).

Gonna be physical and aggressive and look for breaks, be a decent test, these are the sort of games where we are expecting to win where we will learn a lot.

Hopefully Klich, Pablo and Saiz can find the passes, Roofe can make the runs, Ali can make the right crosses.
Signed

So far Bielsa has been able to find tactics for our games - one day if we keep this up it'll become instinctive.
Then we'll really have arrived.

When Crouch came on for Stoke our game went a bit ragged. I am sure that Rotherham will be looking to exploit this by using long balls into their big centre forward.

Anticipation and Interception is the only way to handle this, and our midfield have to be there to pick up or challenge for any knockdown or second balls. (God I am sounding like Heck. .. oh no)

I just hope this is not another Millwall. It would seem that as soon as a team exploits a weakness then other teams latch on to it, then we enter a world of pain.

But from listening to the MB interview he seems to be well aware of where the threats will come from, and hopefully he can formulate a plan to deal with them.

I still we will win. I had Ipswich done to beat them, but Rotherham snatched a victory in the dying minutes of the game.

I'm hoping we keep banging in the goals & manage to keep a clean sheet, Bielsa would be more happier if we don't concede I suspect.

3-0 to Leeds

Interesting test, 1-0 win would be ok. Would love to see a clean sheet

A proper sellout at ER again - absolutely great to see.

Who knew that playing attractive attacking football would pull in the crowds?

Heavy touch pass from Saiz after a nice run, too hard for Pablo to collect cleanly
