European footballs elite were forming a cue to sign the Norwegian when he was still at school.
It came down to Bayern and Real Madrid.
In order to secure his services Real Madrid offered him a huge wage and his father a job as a Youth Coach (his dad is an ex pro footballer).
They paid over £3.5mil for him upfront with add ons potentially taking it past £6mil, peanuts now for a talented teenager
But back in January 2015 Real Madrid paid all that just over a month after his 16th birthday, and he trained mostly with the 1st team but played mainly for the 2nd.
It hasnt worked out to well, he has made a few appearances for the Madrid 1st team but not many.
An off and on time in Holland hasnt really done to much either.
Reports now suggesting he could be on his way on loan to The Championship.
We arent mentioned but Bielsa wants a winger, Bielsa is still highly regarded in Spain, as is Orta from his time at Seville and we have a former Madrid board member on our board in Ivan Bravo.
Would he be useful?
Still only 19, clearly talented, Madrid must see thousands of "potential stars" but they went above and beyond to get him as a kid.
Perhaps understandably the pressure was to much for a 16 year old.
We arent really linked but you never know, PhilHay thinks Bielsa is relaxed about getting a cb but would like a winger.
