The LUFC Breakfast Debate (Mon 16 July)

Post by Ellandback1 »

Good Morning Everyone

Marcus Antonsson has penned a two year permnanent contract with Swedish Champions Malmo FF.

He links up with former Leeds Manager Uwe Rosler.

The fee was undisclosed.

Jamal Blackman will finally put pen to paper today and commit himself to a season long loan at Elland Road. The Chelsea stopper enjoyed a successful loan at Brammel Lane last season.

According to Phil Hay, Blackman may only be one of three players that may join today!

All we know at this stage is that one player plays in the Championship, the other in the Premiership.

We will know more today.

Newly promoted Cardiff City are believed to be interested in Ronaldo Viera. The 19 yo midfielder enjoyed another successful campaign with England u21's this Summer, helping lift the the Toulon Cup for the second year running.

A figure of 8m has been lodged.

Thoughts?

Posh duo Marcus Maddison and Jack Marriott have been heavily linked with a Summer move to Elland Road over the weekend. Can they make the step up from league 1?

Hi EB

Well I suppose if they keep putting out the 'players are due to sign today' story every day, sooner or later it will be true.

Hope Vieira stays. He is a young and talented footballer.

Evening Harry. Seems Blackman had his medical over the weekend.

Two more to follow over the next 24 hours.......apparently

Probably for the best for Marcus, was always a nice cheap flyer for us in difficult circumstances. Could have been something in the now redundant 442. No regrets

I'd like to see but doubt we'll get a fair competition at GK, BPF should start imo. Just like Rob Green last season. Got that one right too.

No clue who the two other loanees will be

Vierra, Forshaw, Baker, Ideguchi (who's impressing apparently) Klich (ditto) are all competing for the same spot in the starting line up. What do you want to bet the two other new players are centre mid too? Or U23's

I so much hope we keep Vieira - he's absolutely worth the earth.
C'mon my son, stay with those who worship you, not those Philistines who just want to make a profit from your eventual sale to Barca.

When you say premiership, hope we are not considering Pennington/CBJ standard

Media speculation only I reckon

Never worked out for Marcus, probably was a step to high for him, no worries, hope he goes on to have a solid career elsewhere.

The Premier League loan needs to be top class, Baker anad Blackman are decent,, thats enough loans for me unless the Prem loan is exceptional. Curious who the Championship player is, heard Neson Oliviera mentioned, personally id like Jack O'Connoll from Blunts.

Wouldn't sell Vieira for less then £20mil in todays market, Jack Grealish, VIila want £30mil, David Brooks went for £10mil, no more undervaluing our youngsters.

Of the two id take Maddison, he has proven himself consistently to be to good for League 1 for 3 or 4 years, we need a proven striker, Jack Marriott may be good enough,, we havent the money to hope our main striker might be good enough.
Signed

Chelsea aren't open to perm. offers for Blackman. They see him as a potential number one.

Afternoon Ell.

No that was the other guy, Sheffield Wednesday lad, cant remember his name.

Brooks went for £4mil up front apparently, rising to £12mil to Bournemouth.

lot of money for a player who only made 9 starts last season, did well though.

Vieira has to be worth 3 or 4 times that upfront imo.
Signed
