John we love ya - the ref was probably unsuited to the pressure cooker that is International Football between drug lords' sons and regular humans.
The behaviour of those Colombians was so out of sync. with normal sports behaviour, just like the Argentinians of 1966 when their captain, Rattin, was sent off. Then, it took a Red Card to quieten it down and I wish this US ref had sent off at least 1 player to get the game in order.

However, I'm more proud of Harry Kane and the rest for refusing to rise to the bait. They kept their ranks OK and settled things the honourable way. That penalty shoot-out was something else, and we have at last broken the curse. The best English football moment since before 1990.

I finally have hopes for us this year.
