Under 23's v Cardiff today

Leeds winning 1-0 at half time - Sam Dalby. Say what you want about Orta, but the players he has got for the U23's and U18's are really starting to shine, sprinkled alongside some of our home grown talent.

1-2 now Gandi.
Re: Under 23's v Ipswich
Finished 3-2 to Leeds. Dalby (2), Machuca. We were hanging on a bit at the end, but played some nice stuff.

Oriol Rey looks very talented, and I was also impressed with the Dutch centre half Pascal Strujik (sp). They may need a bit more time yet, though.

Thanks for posting the thread Gandi, I did manage to watch a bit of the game. From what I saw, our youngsters looked enthusiastic and 'up for it'....nice. Good result, as I'm stuck down here living amongst The Tractor boys.......so double delight.

Re: Under 23's v Ipswich
Great to see the team spirit as I am sure every outfield player celebrated the 3rd goal and that meant players running from well inside their own half just to congratulate the scorer - cracking goal too with a lot of strength, skill and composure shown. The team spirit is key to me as that makes players give extra for each other and can be the difference between one set of equally talented players losing or winning.
Very excited for the long term future even if our first team is a little short in areas.Looking at the third goal too and that was a quality hoofball so Heckingbottom will be able to use that lad!

Watched the 2nd half, a comfortable victory for our young lads
Four consecutive wins, unbeaten in seven matches
Still a chance of claiming the runners-up spot in the table

Re: Under 23's v Cardiff today
The good thing is that having the additional quality of the foreigners has probably helped the decent local lads to shine as they now have quality players around them as opposed to a few players just making the numbers up as in recent years. All sounds very promising and all those idiots writing the young players off after we started the season poorly can all eat their words as it was always going to take time for the team to knit together - just like with the first team but hey ho....

1-0 down to Millwall at the moment.
Ryan Edmondson is on the bench for the u23s.
No Pascal Struijk or Jack Clarke at all, read into that what you will.

2-0 Penalty.
Mistake by Rey, lost the ball, Romario Vieira brings down the Millwall lad.
