An apology

Post by Cjay »

To Stuart Dallas

Not a fan, never was last season nor this season.

Dont think he is a quality player like Hernandez, Saiz or Alioski.

Doesnt offer the excitement that those 3 have.

Doesnt even offer the same unpredictable flair of Sacko.

But!!!!

He offers something else.

Balance, unselfishness, professionalism, consistency.

You don't get Saiz like runs, Pablo nutmegs, Alioski rocket goals.

You dont get match winning performances like those 3 have this season.

You also dont get diving, spitting and tantrums.

You get something all 3 have struggled with, consistent steady performances.

He will do a job, a 7/10 at left back, left wing, right back and right wing. Its not spectacular but it is dependable.

And he deserves to start vs Boro, Pablo and Roofe may be fit, they dont start imo.
Signed

No need to apologise Cjay

I was never a big fan of Dallas, after saying that I thought he had a good pre-season & he was unlucky not to make Christiansen's squad on a frequent basis

Like a true pro Stuart has knuckled down, worked hard & kept himself fit, under Hecky management he has become an important cog in the first XI of late, fully deserved too !

I've always rated him. Like you say, he's not flashy, but he works hard and has good delivery. He always seems to pop up with a goal or assist.

I think Christiansen appreciated him, he just struggled to find a place for him in the system ahead of the three players you mentioned.

You can't have a team full of Saiz, Hernandez type players, you need your Dallas' too.

Still think he'll make a good left sided wing back.

I agree, or even left back.

Eddie Lewis did well when he converted to a left back.
