Vurnon Anita

Post by Cjay »

Is todays player.

Didnt realise he didnt have a thread till i went to moan about him

Versatile dutch international.

Made his name as a midfielder, but over time developed into a full back.

Where do people stand on Vurnon?

Talented lad.

But not a full back, passable at right back, dreadful at left.

Was our worst defender yesterday.

Need to drop and give De Bock another shot.

Prefer to see Anita given a chance in midfield

I was one of those really pleased when we signed him, based on previous seasons I thought we’d got a bargain so far I’m somewhat underwhelmed but then got to say he’s not had a decent shot, neither a run in the team, one position nor in midfield. I suppose he can’t be showing it in training otherwise (O’Kane) he’d be getting a regular run out.

I really don't understand why he isn't being given more of an opportunity in centre mid - and also at right back I guess!

I dont doubt his talent, he came through a renowned academy and has played at a high level almost all his career. . . As a midfielder.

On what planet is he a full back, 2 games in a row he has been torn to bits.

Its not fair on him, its not fair on the fans and its not fair on De Bock.

He isnt a crap footballer, hes a damn sight more talented then most of our squad.

But Hecky has thrown Anita to the lions twice now. Jozefzoon is a pacy, direct winger, Traore is a pacy direct winger, they would give natural fbs issues.

To play Anita against them was dumb, he was totally out of his depth and nobody is surprised.

And its insulting to De Bock, after Anita was ran ragged vs Brentford Hecky should have brought De Bock back. To play Anita after that performance vs Brentford, what does that say to De Bock?
