Leeds v Brentford - Team/News/Reports/Ratings

Post by 1964white »

Brentford are the visitors to Elland Road on Saturday.

Birmingham City have won seven goals in their last two games thrashing the Brummies 5-0 & a 0-2 victory at Sunderland

They sit one place and four points above us.

Heck will have to decide whether to start with Saiz and rest Hernandez who went off with a knock.

Continue with Jansson and Cooper at the heart of our defence; or recall Pennington.

Viera or Phillips alongside Forshaw?

Ekuban or Roofe partnering Lasogga (if fit)?

Alioski on the wing ?

Lonergan hasn't trained all week

. . . . . .Wiedwald . . . . . .
Bera.Jansson.Cooper.Bock

. . . . . Vieira . .Forshaw. .

Dallas . . Saiz . . . Alioski

. . . . Lassie . . . . .

Lonners, Anita, Penny, Phillips, Roofe, Hernandez, Ekuban

Cant go back to a right footed left back, doesnt work. Philips isnt a dm, Vieira is ,unless he isn't fit he needs to start. Cooper and Penny arent good enough but Cooper is a tiny bit better imo. Dallas and Alioski will run and run and protect the full backs. Saiz and Lassie are obvious starters.

Got battered last time vs Brentford, cant see it being any different given our inability to do anything until the 2nd half.

Forshaw - Phillips

Dallas - Saiz - Alioski

Cant see Pablo making it either.

At least you finally admit we are pish poor without that Macedonian Messi :)

Hobsons choice with Penny and Cooper either or, neither are ideal.

An on form Vieira walks in ahead of Philips imo, but current form its the same as the two above

BPF played today for the u23s, he isn't close to being ready.

Same team as Tuesday for me except Saiz for Pablo , bench is strong again with plenty of attacking options if needed, only hope the dick between the sticks talks to the teammates in front of him!!!!

Pablo played two games in four days so maybe best he is rested if he is carrying a knock

Heck raving about his work rate & I do agree with some on here he is more effective when Saiz is in the team, Aliloski runs into space giving Samu an option as was the case v Derby

Agree although I think Captain Chaos makes more vital errors than Pennington does. We need to shift Cooper on or else we'll never progress whilst he is around our back four

Vieira is currently a pale shadow of the player we saw at Bristol C & Wolves

Think so especially at his age, dont want to burn him out. He has done exceptional last month or so, earned his rest unlike most of his teammates.

They work well together, play some great stuff between them. One without the other struggles as they get isolated and teamed up on. Both in the side create space for the other. They also are the only ones who keep up with the other on the break.

In fairness to Cooper he has had some really solid games. Not keen on Penny, he's 23, if he was that good wouldn't Everton have kept him like they have younger players like Holgate and Calvert Lewin?

Vieira is currently a pale shadow of the player we saw at Bristol C & Wolves
He is, i wonder if he is struggling with his knee again. If thats the case I'd rather see him dropped all together then risk damaging it further. Not like we have much to play for apart from pride.

If you get the spine of the team correct then everything else falls in place. Here is my team.
Goalkeeper: Paul Rachubka
Defender: Scott Wooton
Midfield: Seth Johnson
Attack: Thomas Brolin

:rol:

How many years have I been rattling on about the spine of our team

We were almost there with three of the four positions in place last season

This season we've gone backwards with none in place for much of the season, only two parts at this stage with Lassoga & the introduction of Forshaw. One CB light & a nightmare of a keeper to be resolved

I believe Forshaw is out today. Which if so, is a big blow.

Fair enough Forshaw, personal choice Lassie played he decided not to, no issue there. Hope it goes well.

But O'Shame and Phillips :(

Back to a right footed left back :(

And that bench has 4 players on it with no business being anywhere near the first team imo

Denton, Peacock Farrell, Pennington and Sacko. Give Cibicki the benefit of the doubt.

Canos will be itching to get on and run rings around poor Anita.
