Never been a big fan of the current one - always looked like a kid won a competition to design it......IMHORatscoot wrote:Talk Sport have just announced that LUFC are releasing a new Badge design today, they are giving TS the Jim White Show a preview this morning

I just went and checked it out as well, it's really bad, hope that's not planned to be on the shirts....radebe88 wrote:Not sure how to add an image from my phone..... but I can confirm it's a man doing the Leeds salute and it looks awful.

Seen it on the official site, it’s hideous imo. Apperently they’d consulted 10,000 “fans” before they chose it.

Anyone want to own up to having been consulted then? It'srich_leeds64 wrote:Seen it on the official site, it’s hideous imo. Apperently they’d consulted 10,000 “fans” before they chose it.
I'm going back to 505, I saw them at Sheffield and they were amazing.

Re: New Club Badge
All 10000 must have been housed in lunatic asylums , or attendee's of neo Nazi conventions or something . I think its horrendous . I quite liked the old one , having a sort of Juventus/Italian style to it , at least it had something Leeds Utd to it , this one - maybe we'll get used to it - I just can't imagine it as a club emblem .....maybe a cheap t-shirt print , but NOT a club emblem . Waste of club money if this is the result of consultation . Stick with the old or go back further ie smiley , peacock or similar modernised versions of old badges , but please , not this .rich_leeds64 wrote:Seen it on the official site, it’s hideous imo. Id start paying the asking price for some players pretty sharpish Radz
Marriott, Maddison, Dack and Helander.
That should calm the rage

Re: New Club Badge
I like it... so there.
1) it has the Leeds colours (White blue and yellow)
2) It uses the Leeds salute which fans have been doing in the stands for yonks. What's not to like
3) It encapsulated both pride and tradition (something money can't buy)
4) It is a gesture that no other club has and players from the Bremner years have onwards
have pumped their hearts with their fists.
Who would prefer the acid house yellow smiley face?
Who remembers the wars of the roses and the white rose of Yorkshire?
And what is all this about peacocks?
It takes a gesture that the fans have used for ages. It has not been manufactured by
some marketing strategist. It has not been conceived by a Chinese mogul, or executives
from Red Bull. It is something the fans have given to the club, and as a mark of respect
and appreciation the club has given back to the fans. To scorn it is to spit on your own
heritage.

Re: New Club Badge
I would have thought that as it was the centenary next year something design that took its cues from the best known badges of the last 100 years and celebrating our history would have been a winner. Should always have a White Yorkshire Rose on for me.....but I do still like the old "Smiley" badge however.

Re: New Club Badge
Appalling. We have an iconic piece of branding already. We have a badge which is only LUFC. It singlehandedly would have returned the club to the fans. Evolution & history. The club have learnt nothing from recent football rebrands. We submitted a thought piece on this back in October. Please retweet. #bringbackthesmiley

Re: New Club Badge
Would be fine on a t-shirt knocked out from a stall outside ER on match day, but as the club crest, it's sh*te. Personally don't mind the current shield; it has the white rose, the early 70s script and the Leeds colours, what's not to like?
