It is a classic song
I was amazed when I searched the thread, and found that it hadn’t already been nominated.

With 28 Rounds completed, when included drawn finals, there have been 39 winning songs.

Of these the various decades have delivered:
60's - 11 winners (or 28.2%)
70's - 16 winners (or 41.0%)
80's - 4 winners (or 10.3%)
90's - 6 winners (or 15.4%)
00/10's - 2 winners (or 5.1%)

Are these results a reflection of the quality of musical output of the period, or is it largely a consequence of the age profile of those voting :?: :?: :?:

The quality of the songs were better (without all the tekkie sound equipment) & more memorable from the 60's/70's.

You only have to look at all the classic albums in any given year then.

Not the same now, much of it is disposable!

I agree that a lot of today's music is disposable, but think the in answer to Cat's question, quite possibly it's the age of the posters on here, it was the golden age for most of us.
