Azkal - nearly my choice this one, but I plumped for the Jam
...and was thinking of Statesboro' Blues by Taj Mahal for my 60's choice Gessa

gessa wrote: Sat Jun 02, 2018 10:12 pm Another bunch of no hopers, got a guitar vibe going tonight, so these are my choices.

60's
Taj mahal "Leaving Trunk"

70's
Rory Gallagher "In Your Town "

80's
Midnight Oil "Beds Are Burning

90's
The Blue Aeroplanes "Anti-Pretty

00's
King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard - Robot Stop ( on my own I think but this is a great album, not good for driving to, for safety reasons)
Ooh Midnight Oil Bullroarer would have been so good there

Hey Cat, been on my list of potential 70's tracks to put forward for a while, made the cut this time. I really struggle with songs from the 80's, not many tracks from that era that really float my boat.

Considered it, also Truganini and Dreamworld but thought I'd go with something some might know, see if I can get at least 1 into the last 8.

There was also 4 Blue Aeroplanes considered and that was just off one album.

Azkal - my problem with the 70's (and to a lesser extent the 60's) is just choosing one - when there are just loads and loads of great songs.

I agree the 80's is more difficult, things picked up in the 90's, but it's the 00's I struggle most with - which is why the 'new' suggestions on the music threads are really good.

Totally with you there for sure, I have a stack full of songs for the 70's  Just listening to a couple of tracks now from the thread which I am not acquainted with. Usually one or two gems, particularly with Faaip and Gessa's submissions, although Hector's songs are very popular........with my Grandma :shhh: ;-)
