Suggestion for 'new' rule - if there's a tie with a 'nominated' and a 'Joker' song the nominated song should go through. A Joker song should have to beat a nominated song to progress. I just think it keeps more interest if actual nominations go through rather than some random (albeit you've chosen them 64) joker picks.

Just a suggestion ! :)

(and the suggestion isn't made just as one of mine went out to a joker this round....honest) :moggy:
I'm easy if everybody are fine with the idea

The jokers are winning songs from previous polls we held a few years ago so the songs of the featured artist are generally their best songs admittedly voted by a mix current & ex-members.

No disrespect to our current members nominations several of the jokers are better than the nominated songs in some cases imo. I like every joker song in the current poll

Re: Mega Favourite Song Poll Round 13 - LUCKY BAG time again

Post by 1964white »

So disappointed 'April Come She Will' probably the most beautiful song in Round 13 missed the cut in the 60's poll, that's the 2nd great S & G album track to be balloted out early doors which in my opinion are just as great as their most popular songs

Also sad to see 'Make It Easy On Yourself' & 'Revolution' go but the 60's polls are very competitive !

Even more disappointing my own nomination Radiohead 'Fake Plastic Trees' is sent packing by the lucky bag :( at least Norfolk's wonderful 'Paranoid Android' nomination has gone through :-D

On the other hand I'm pleased to see the songs from Bowie, Wishbone Ash, Iggy Pop, Damien Rice & Elbow make the semi's, even better we have a soul classic through 8-)

I must not be too superstitious :)

As a 11yo boy I loved 'You Were On My Mind' especially as I was chasing a 14yo lass across the road from me

Thank goodness that soppy and boring Simon and Garfunkle track is gone..... I misplaced my razor blades

also good to see 'make it easy on yourself' a good runner for razorblade of the year zoom out, and the 'hip' Revolution has revoluted off....

But also good to see the artificial tree song by more razor blade candidates Radiohead chopped down in it's prime, but sad to see the depressed Paranoid android (not a mention of Marvin anywhere !!)

Really sad to see the unimpressive Bowie song, major razor blade merchants Iggy Pop, Damian rice and Elbow have slipped by the blade and insinuated themselves into the next round...

And to make matters worse..... a bloody soul (destroying) classic has made it......
