Their best mate

All those many Abba chart hits & their best song didn't even make the Top 30

Jill will be pleased with you when she has a read tomorrow

90's: English Boy by Pete Townshend
00's: A Man in a Purple Dress by the Who

There's a pattern here in case you missed it.

Having a hard time understanding why the Who don't get more love around here. They're an English band, after all, and quite simply the greatest rock band ever, especially live.

Love the Who John, own many of their albums

I have three or four of their songs on my list for future polls

Quadrophenia, Who's Next & Tommy are my three favourite Who albums

Cheers, not to dusty yourself, the excellent and under rated Mazzy Star  though as much as I love the Dead South, think that may get vetoed as too late from 64. Unless we're allowing 2010 0n 64?

Dead South are touring here soon ..

Thank you Faaip but I've always loved David Essex  as for my other choices Leon has influenced my taste with artists such as Smiths/Morrissey/R.E.M over the years with others to be disclosed in the forthcoming polls

I think the Boxer (S&G) is the masterwork there, incredible lyric. But like most of Paul Simon's work

The Boxer & The Sound Of Silence were from one of my favourite 60's films The Graduate, great songs

The Only Living Boy In New York is also a firm favourite for me, may nominate that one next time :duno:

In that case, I better not bother. Most of my picks last time never made it past pre-qualifying.

Quite a few obscure songs in the current poll Gandi

All my songs were swamped in the first couple of rounds :(

I listened to a few bands and songs I’d never heard of through nominations that might not have got through the first round, really enjoyed most of them.

Didn't realise we could have any song from the 2000's. I nominated this last time but it was 2010 I think so didn't qualify. It is one of the finest, sexiest tracks of this century and I'm considering replacing the hold steady
