Leicester going great guns in Europe

Post by HarryofOz »

Leicester leading 3-0 in Bruges in their Champions League debut. Just 20 minutes to go.

Brings back memories of our 4-1 in Belgium,
Un Marcelo Bielsa, solo hay un Marcelo Bielsa. Gracias Marcello. Marsching on together.

Just seen the goals, Mahrez free-kick was a peach of a strike

Pleased for Ranieri

BT Showcase (Freeview channel 59) showed this game last night. Leicester played well enough, but Bruges were the architects of their own downfall. Their play out from the back was suicidal, gifting Leicester 2 of their 3 goals, and no-one was stopping that Mahrez free-kick. Good start for the Foxes, but tougher games ahead, I reckon. Bruges will be bottom of that group, we would beat them!!! :P

Ken Bates - Spending money doesn't necessarily guarantee success, just look at Leicester City.

When I saw their group after the draw I thought, if they can get a result in Brugge and pick up 3 points in Copenhagen then have a good home record they should qualify for the next stage, so to get maximum points and a great start on goal difference was a huge achievement. I'd expect Porto to win the group with Leicester 2nd but with them being the unknown quantity anything could happen.

Brugge is easilly one of the weakest teams in the UCL. Happy for leicester, but everything else than 3p would have been a fail imo
