Ok...so the latest.....the neurosurgeon has said that mum needs surgery before Christmas...and he will do his damnedest...other than that it would just be palliative...she is scared but up for it....and we will be with her all the way !!!

Thanks to you all for your posts.

As we suspected,the neurosurgeon today said that mum was not fit for surgery.

We are in no illusion that she is gonna die within the next few months....we saw her MRI...let's just say it ain't pretty.

But they have offered her palliative radiotherapy...it means i can take her over to my old stomping ground in the Belfast City Hospital...they are a class act...perhaps they can perform a miracle

We are trying to keep things as normal as possible and see out her life as best we can...we will take things one day at a time.

That's all we want for her..no fear and knowing that her family are with her all the way.

After a short battle with this awful disease,mum died very peacefully yesterday morning...we are all gonna miss her

Sorry to hear that Ronan, losing your mum is such a traumatic experience. Condolences to you & your family.

We've lost two loved ones in the six weeks so not a good time right now, at one of our our best friend's funeral tomorrow

Your mum came into my head when I was out for a run about 07:30 this morning so I looked here for an update. I am sorry that it was not better news, but the fact that she is no longer suffering - by having to put up with you - must be a comfort of sorts.

Thanks for all your thoughts folks....mum has been waked and it's her funeral tomorrow...tis gonna be a tough day but it's set to be a cold crisp sunny day...we will give her a good send off.
