Uncle Ken and radio Yorkshire
According to Ken on Radio Yorkshire they have signed up to do live broadcasts on United,s games home and away will this man ever go away?He was even giving his verdicts on the last two games to-night.
Re: Uncle Ken and radio Yorkshire
It would seem not - I hope it doesn't mean that Radio Leeds loses it's coverage as a result.
Did Bates linger around Chelsea for years after he left them?

No, he won't. He is the human equivalent of herpes.

No. What we need is a Russian with connections to some seriously nasty gangsters. Cellino's mafia mates clearly aren't persuasive enough.Cozy wrote:It would seem not - I hope it doesn't mean that Radio Leeds loses it's coverage as a result.

Bates also gets a box at Elland Road as part of the deal, and as someone posted on Twitter there is nobody who deserves a box in the ground more than Bates.

I do get frustrated that they broadcast Huddersfield on DAB not Leeds.LUFCRACE wrote:They might do a better job than the current idiots....

Re: Uncle Ken and radio Yorkshire
R.Leeds will still be covering all our games.

Thanks for your support & a reminder that @BBCLeeds has commentary of every #lufc game with dedicated pre & post match shows on 92.4FM.
I prefer Thom and Eddie commentary tho.
What are the implications for LUTV now tho? People have paid annual subscriptions. Will they get refunds?
GFH-Bates never left our club, as I have pointed out continually, since GFH took over. Very surprised that Il Massimo has allowed this.....

You kept saying Bates never left but you have never backed it up.Twiggster wrote:GFH-Bates never left our club, as I have pointed out continually, since GFH took over. Very surprised that Il Massimo has allowed this.....
I believe this 'deal' is settlement of the outstanding case he had against GFH for his dismissal. So in actual fact he is back on the scene because GFH chucked him out, which contradicts what you say.

Re: Uncle Ken and radio Yorkshire
He wasn't dismissed tho. It was all PR from GFH, to get the fans onside. Settlement my butt. GFH could/would have fought any legal case Bates could bring against our club, if they didn't have an agreement with bates before GFH took over...and especially with Cellino's wealth now.Shields53 wrote:

Re: Uncle Ken and radio Yorkshire
But it would be Cellino who would fight the case not GFH. As for him being wealthy, he seems not to be a man who splashes the cash, he'd rather not throw it away. He probably sees giving Bates these rights as a convenient, cost free way of making the case go away.Twiggster wrote:

And alienate the fans, who were just beginning to warm to him?Shields53 wrote:

SS5 have already asked for suggestions for slogans for "banners against bates" I believe?

If the games are still on Radio Leeds and LUTV is it an issue? Or are there questions over the LUTV coverage?Twiggster wrote:

Re: Uncle Ken and radio Yorkshire
Would have thought that if the games are on Radio Leeds then no fan would switch to Radio Yorkshire - no listeners equals no advertising revenue equals loss making radio station for Bates.

Uncle Ken and radio Yorkshire
ANOTHER loss-making radio station weasel, but this time he has to pick up the tab rather than charging it to the club

Re: Uncle Ken and radio Yorkshire
Yes I think Thom Kirwan and Eddie's commentary will be the one that Radio Yorkshire use.
Unless Radio Yorkshire start an app which means people outside of the Yorkshire area or indeed UK can pick up the commentary I cannot see why people will listen to the station when those within the catchment area can stick with BBC Radio Leeds anyway.
If Radio Yorkshire were able to do that, then I would be tempted ( as I cant get Radio Leeds from where I live ) but otherwise this deal benefits no one other than Bates really.

Re: Uncle Ken and radio Yorkshire
Matters not one iota mate. All radio commentaries (and our TV games) are streamed on the interweb. Radio Bates will be no exception.Gurj wrote:Yes I think Thom Kirwan and Eddie's commentary will be the one that Radio Yorkshire use.
