Re: HORSE RACING CHALLENGE : NAP OF THE DAY
I know, I was looking for a runner at 10/3 or 7/2, which given both you an Ges drew a blank today, would have just by the finest of margins have put me ahead.
But alas, Jurgen didn't deliver. Bloody Germans

Anyway nice to have a bite of the cherry for once
Re: HORSE RACING CHALLENGE : NAP OF THE DAY
So I was checking out how my nag did yesterday, and I noticed that there were a couple of non-runners, with the reason given as 'self certificate'.
Those must be some very smart horses. Surely they can make more money appearing on telly or on some other sort of touring circuit charging people a fortune to witness their talents.

Re: HORSE RACING CHALLENGE : NAP OF THE DAY
Heh. Non-Runners have to be notified to the authorities within a certain time before the race is to be run. If a horse is declared a non-runner on the day of the race, but has a Vet's certificate, then the horse cannot run for two days after the Vet's Certificate has been issued.HarryofOz wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2020 8:23 pm So I was checking out how my nag did yesterday, and I noticed that there were a couple of non-runners, with the reason given as 'self certificate'.

However trainers can self-certificate without the horse being seen by a vet (normally caused by a change in ground conditions). However the horse cannot run again for six days after the day of the race.
