BECKFORD - THANK YOU

Post by Norm » Sat May 08, 2010 5:07 pm

Thank you mate for helping us pull it off and making a superb final contribution.
Thank you for over-ruling your greedy agent and electing to stay for this season. Today you proved the value of that decision and confirmed your status as a real, caring person.
I wish you all the luck in the world no matter where you go. I hope you break scoring records galore and get fame and fortune. The only time I will not want you to score is if you're playing against us.
You have my respect and thanks and I will always value your memory.

Becks -- ask Uncle Ken to open his wallet and see what he can do about keeping you around. Not bluddy likely, but what the hell.

That's asking too much, Ken only keeps his Saga membership card, bus pass and a couple of condoms in his wallet...I'm told :|

Becks was immense today. Even before Gradel's dismissal he was working harder than I have ever seen him work. Once Gradel went he upped it even more. He fought for posession in midfield and once he had scored dropped back to left wing. A genuine captain's performance. With ten minutes to go he looked absolutely shattered but kept going somehow.

Beckford has finally showed he can step up to the plate. I wish he had realised it ten games ago.

Thanks Jermaine and good luck mate.

A nice parting gift, because there's no doubt he is going. But yeah, although he has had some controversial moments, sending us back into the championship and scoring that wondergoal at Old Trafford are the two highlights of this season. So i have no ill will towards him and hope he does well wherever he goes ( Everton)

Simon Grayson making Jermaine the captain today was a good bit of man management followed by a master stroke of bringing on Howson to inject some pace.

£2.5 MILLION WELL SPENT!!!

Not taking that money and relying on him to get us promoted and he did it with a little help from all his friends... but he played a blinder today and deserved to score the winning goal.

Jermaine... thank you!

A great captain's performance from Jermaine & fittingly scores the winning goal

Even if you are not here next season - Thank you for two of the most important goals of the season v Scum & today's opposition Bristol Rovers

Let's hope Becks is still with us next season
