Re: England kit

Unfortunately our 'natural order' is demonstrated by the propensity for our species to go to war. This is evidenced right through our history and pre-history. It really isn't... what you're saying doesn't align with the archaeological or anthropological evidence, it's just an ideology projected bac...

Re: Recycling

The con is persuading people that their individual efforts will 'save the planet', so that the military industrial complex et al can carry on as usual. Yes, we should recycle or, better still, not use in the first place, but it's a tiny piece of plastic in the ocean compared to the destruction being...

I was tempted by it... Absolutely Live used to be my go to Doors, especially my no.1 track.

Re: England kit

I'm guessing that anarchy is the model that would present you with freedom from both? I do think Noam Chomsky makes an excellent argument for this, but unfortunately expecting enough human beings to not be motivated by greed or power is like expecting stags not to rut. Chomsky's argument that all a...

Re: England kit

I never miss a vote, can’t see how people can complain about things if they can’t be bothered to put a tick in a box. I know my vote will hardly make a difference but if the thousands, tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands made an effort maybe it would. Tens of millions died in the World Wars ...

Re: England kit

Apparently not registering to vote affects your credit rating ..... I'm not registered to vote, no point really. I've lived in the most solid blue seats in the country all my life, so mine has always been a wasted vote and you now need photo id to vote.... I don't give a s**t about my credit rating...

No , I am more with you there than you think....a lot of stuff being thrown at people in an attempt to divert people , divide people so as that they do not know the bigger picture and what is really happening , with you completely there. It's just one aspect, this culture war , you then have scenar...

Jaydog wrote: Sat Mar 23, 2024 11:19 am So people just allowed the cat to get in before they went to work?
He used to jump in when the door was open and they weren't looking.

I had a cat that used to get in people's shopping baskets, when they used to be the big wicker type.

Re: Cat in a tree--RESCUED.

I get notified on a local neighbourhood thing about animals that go missing. Mainly dogs but occasionally cats. The latest one was interesting, a cat that has a habit of getting in to random vehicles if the owners back is turned. He’s ended up all over the place 😁 Used to know a cat like that - big...

I think we have a broadly similar outlook when it comes to the nature of political power, but you're barking up the wrong tree with the culture war stuff imo. It's a deliberate distraction to keep people ar...

Re: England kit

What you describe as Global Capitalism Sara I would argue is Global Coperateism. This is a corruption of Adam Smith's notion espoused in his Wealth of Nations. You can of course argue that true capitalism led us to this corruption of Smith's ideal. However the direct alternatives experimented with ...

I guess it's never been completely like that ........but there was a time that there were communities, people helped each other , you didn't have to lock your doors and people could just walk into your house . You may have to go back to the war ( WW2) , just after or at a push maybe into the 1960's...

Re: Playlist over the last week.

There is a video unboxing with DZ, and soundbites from the album, Smoke is on the streaming platforms and it sounds tons better. Not convinced... sounds a bit too 'clean' to me, but I'm a fan of live in the studio recording where everything bleeds into everything else. You can get some separation r...
