Re: Yorkshire Brew Crowned Champion

Not keen on Yorkshire beers. The brewers don't seem to have the expertise or maturity as many other regional brewers like Fosters.

Re: Quote / thought of the day

Good point WR. But looking after your family will not look after your family in the long run. If society is degrading then what are we to do? Build walls around our family units? Stop our kids from going out? In a few generations this is where it will be.

Re: Quote / thought of the day

The systems are against us. Too many with little chance or opportunity from birth naturally aspiring to have what too many born with chance and opportunity have. Don't get me wrong, I believe that in the main, in our world we can make a certain amount from endeavour, but it is not a fair system for ...

Re: Quote / thought of the day

Ok, so going back to your original post, the opposite of doing nothing is doing something? We can all do something but I suspect society has degraded too far, and mans dislike of man is too intense to pull it together.

Sounds terrifying. I'll check Denmark off the list and take my chances in Somalia this summer instead.

Questioning is easy. Action takes courage and requires the support of the law.

Re: Quote / thought of the day

In an increasingly violent and lawless society many good men are fearful of the consequences of standing up to the few.

Re: 2013 Cricket Season

Have not seen the highlights yet but I had assumed defeat was on the cards having checked the score mid afternoon. Agree about the break through.

Important that England won the Ashes and didn't retain. Bring it on at the Oval. Looking forward to Christmas now.

Re: 2013 Cricket Season

I agree it is a great sport. It is meant to last the better part of 5 days however. From what I have seen we are witnessing an interesting contest between 2 mediocre test sides,

Re: 2013 Cricket Season

A win is a win I suppose. England needed this one. Despite being very average with the bat for too many tests, England can go down under with bragging rights. A big win at the Oval would do wonders for morale too.

A good away point was disappointed how much we gave the ball away. Too much long stuff but I guess it will take time to turn around.

Re: 2013 Cricket Season

As an interjection, the best thing about cricket threads and rugby threads is that Twiggster has no idea what people are talking about. Unlike in football threads when no one has any idea what Twiggster is talking about.

Re: 2013 Cricket Season

I reckon 300 to 350 first innings should be enough for a win for Aus. If Australia are a bad test side, then England are on a par.
