Or Pep ;-)
Yes, thought that as soon as I'd posted. Some saying his days at City might be numbered with their ban from Europe. Is he a builder though, or does he just do well tweaking established teams. We need another visionary like Marcelo.

Yes there are three albums that are definitely not my taste Sara. I'll give them a listen & turn off when I become bored
Intrigued to know which three... perhaps we should include a nomination for room 101.

Re: Leeds Utd v Bristol City Match Thread - Unchanged Starting XI, Roberts returns to the bench

Never entirely sure of the etiquette of congratulating people for having children. I mean, no one congratulates me for not having them, despite this being a fine choice, so I have no point of reference. Kittens and puppies, certainly, but kids... A woman in the pub did say to me recently, did you fi...

Re: Album of 1975 - VOTE for your favourite 5 albums from the nominated list

It's a good broad selection. I've voted for two albums I'd never heard before, and listened to several others. There are certain things I know I don't like though, so that narrowed it down a bit.

Re: Playlist over the last week......

Tonight's listen:

King Crimson - The Power To Believe

Their most recent studio album, from 2013. How many of the late 60s/ early 70s crop are still making and touring music like this? Belew and Fripp, just incredible.

Re: Leeds Utd v Bristol City Match Thread - Unchanged Starting XI, Roberts returns to the bench

Would all that anxiety be worth it just to get one over on Derby? As long as we actually did it. The reverse possibility, of them beating us to deny us promotion again, is unthinkable. The thing they dread most is us and Forest going up, so I'd take that any which way. An equally satisfying situati...

Ayling has received a lot of stick in the past, I believe there is not a better RB in the championship
I've seen a stats thing somewhere that proves he is. On performances like today, it's not surprising.

Re: Luke Ayling

It seems only a short while ago I preferred Dallas at rb and Alio at lb, and didn't think Bill would be getting in the team. Fortunately, Stuart can play at lb as well!

Re: Playlist over the last week......

It is, they're all good in their own way. I've always been a Gilmour fan, for phrasing, tone and emotional expression, but I also like Alex Lifeson a lot, of the more technical players. I love Neil Young too, who is actually crap, Mark Hollis and Mark Ribot. Fripp is on a whole other level though, f...

Re: Playlist over the last week......

:) Try replicating it Blow by Blow that is. I have actually been told I play like Jeff Beck! It isn't remotely the case, of course, and I certainly don't underestimate what he does, but I understand the pub rock reference too. There are times when it just sounds like overplaying for the sake of it,...

Yes I do that, poor or cliched lyrics kill a song faster than anything
I struggle with the casual misogyny in things like Led Zeppelin too. 'You'll soon be 16', sung by a 27 yr old man. Cringe.

Re: Leeds Utd v Bristol City Match Thread - Unchanged Starting XI, Roberts returns to the bench

Thoroughly enjoyed that, what a well deserved win, and the perfect time to start our resurgence. Ayling a beast today, and a great double act with Costa. Didn't think Pablo was as bad as some are saying, he certainly had his moments. Klich, Phillips, Harrison, Cooper, Dallas, all playing out of thei...
