Re: Leeds Utd v Luton Town - MATCH THREAD

Nervous about this. Reminds me of Wigan last season. Everyone expects us to win but Luton are actually 6th in the form table pver the last 5 games woth 2 wins and 3 draws. Only lost 1 of 8. Cant take them lightly and with doubts over Pablo the lads need to perform a lot better then 1st half vs Fulham.

Re: Leeds Utd v Luton Town - MATCH THREAD

Same team and Tyler needs to step up as a 10.

Pablo said he isnt fully fit so he should only come on if urgent.

Bring on Shacks, Poveda, Ali etc for fresh legs but Pablo only if essential.

Re: Pablo Hernandez. 35th birthday today

Don't understand how Harrison was "lucky" there...Did really well to hold off the defender and get the shot away...Did he had to do a Yeboah flick onto the thigh then half volley first .... JH miscontrolled it and it only went through because it bounced off the defender, cant tell on that angle tbf...

Re: Leeds Expected Goals

Know some dont like xG but i find it interesting you keep reading about how "we will struggle in the EPL". Not as good as Wolves, Norwich, Blades etc. But that fails to recognise we fail to hit our xG all the time and are greatly below it this season but still top. Goals scored - 73.5 Goals conceded...

Re: Leeds Utd v Fulham - MATCH THREAD

Somewhat ironically.

Harrison officially gets an assist for his poor and mishit cross for the 2nd goal but Pablo doesnt get one for his pass for the 3rd because JH (unlike him) miscontrolled it and it hit a defender to bounce back into his path.

Lifes not fair Pablo

Re: Competing in the Premier League...

After doing a quick search and reading some of the comments from Leeds fans when Orta was appointed in May 2017, there was a lot of alarm back then about his previous record at Boro - ' why the hell are we going for him given his record at Boro ? ' etc. Failing to nail such a talented player as Bue...

Re: Competing in the Premier League...

Not wanting to tempt fate but IF promoted we would need a lot more individual quality in the Prem. That bit of extra talent that cant be coached that imo we do lack. Concerned about Orta plotting our recruitment, he made a total mess of keeping Boro up and his success rate here is poor. JKA while cl...

Re: Player Ratings v Fulham

Meslier 8 . . .very solid, really impressive for such a young lad in a high pressure game and played a crucial role in a goal. Ayling 7 Dallas 7 White 9- Immense, did so well after Mitrovic roughed him up. Coops 7. KP 7 Klich 6- I thought by his standards he was poor. Roberts 6.5 Did ok as a striker...

Re: Positives/Negatives v Fulham (1 of each only please)

Positive - The impact Ali and Pablo had, full credit to MB.

Negative- Coops defending at set pieces, if promoted VAR will punish him and he wont stop doing it because he cant. Always pulling shirts it drives me mad, always done it.

Re: Leeds Utd v Fulham - MATCH THREAD

MB earned his money today.

100% credit for half time, saw the lack of control in midfield, saw the lack of hold up play from Paddy and MB made changes to fix it.

And taking Pablo off, protecting him, brilliant.

Well done all for that 2nd half.

Re: Leeds Utd v Fulham - MATCH THREAD

Poor but winning (credit to Costa and Paddy). Roberts needs taking off for Pablo, need someone with a hint of control in the middle. Kp and Klich sloppy. Harrison ineffective And Cooper pulling the shurt if Mitrovic all the time at every set piece is worrying. But Mitrovic should be off anyway and w...

Re: Leeds Utd v Fulham - Starting XI unchanged, Pablo makes the bench

Tbf an accurate comparison would be Jack Harrison vs Cavaleiro as they are both left wingers.

Presume thats a Leeds site that picked Knockhaert because he has had a poor season.

Cavaleiro has 1 more goal and the same assists as JH in 513 less minutes then JH has played.

Re: Leeds Utd v Fulham - MATCH THREAD

I've never understood the vital cog in the system argument, his movement is poor, he has very poor footwork, not a natural finisher. You'd grade him fairly low as a player that can hold the ball up, he can but so could 50 other strikers in the Championship most of whom could finish better. The runs...

Pressure is off

For us and WBA. The press may want to pile it on with us both playing our nearest rivals this weekend. But we DONT have to beat Fulham and WBA DONT have to beat Brentford. They have to beat us. Otherwise its down to them needing 1ppg more then us for the final 7 games. Us and WBA are not the ones wh...

Re: Two positives/negatives today

Are we really going to blame Paddy for Harrison being wasteful? Harrison averages a goal contribution every 269mins and Ali is 260 yet Ali has spent most of the season playing left back. Paddy blocked 1 yes but Harrison is still extremely wasteful same as last season. The whole team is wasteful and ...

Re: Two positives/negatives today

Positive- Pablo Hernandez is back training today.

Negative- Paddy B and Jack Harrison feature in the top 10 for big chances missed in the Championship.

39 between them (27 Paddy, by a mile the most and 12 for JH).
