Re: Hope For The Future

Doesn't have to be sustainable, at least in the short term, just affordable. If the stated intent is to gain promotion, then better players on higher wages is pretty much a given. If we get promoted, then the financial windfall takes care of the higher wages. If we don't, then we either gamble or c...

Re: Hope For The Future

if we can get players like saiz, forshaw, jansson etc. on 15k a week, then we don't need to be signing players who earn more than 15k a week. it's just not sustainable

Re: Hope For The Future

Increasing the wage cap personally worries me. Radrizzani has already massively increased the wage budget, and players commanding wages over 15k will also require big transfer fees.

I think we'll struggle to offload many of the players we want to get rid of as well.

Radz has also had the benefit of Leeds games shown on the telly every other week, what is it....23 of our 49 league & cup games televised, also we have to go back to the early 2000's since we had so many 30k attendances at ER in a season Also rugby, boxing matches, concerts plus all the corporate b...

Why, Dan, what have you seen during his tenure to suggest he can be a success here?
nothing - just teasing.

would be interested to see how he does next season after a preseason of his own - but whether it's worth taking that gamble I'm not sure...

Re: 17% forum backing for Paul Heckingbottom

Europa League not enough? I suppose it doesn't compare to the JPT and League One playoffs though. he's gone from managing valencia in the champions league and atletico madrid in the europa league, to being sacked at Watford and Espanyol. If you look at his record, he's hardly ever spent more than a...

Re: Summer Transfers and Squad Discussion

Clubs like Cardiff and preston have shown you can mount a serious promotion push without breaking the bank. Preston, in particular, have signed quite a few "bargains" - Jordan hugill they sold for almost 10 mil. Of course we can't state the next set of bargains - that's why top scouts get paid so mu...

Re: Summer Transfers and Squad Discussion (Kyle Bartley exclusive )

Then please explain...such comments are a waste of time. No, your constant repetition of the same point over and over is. The whole point of a bargain is that you find a player who is cheap (and affordable) because, for example, other clubs don't recognise the potential that you (or your scouting n...

Re: Summer Transfers and Squad Discussion (Kyle Bartley exclusive )

Do we have good scouting? Do we have a good coach? Can you name possible bargains (can our scouts)? (This question I asked the first time you mentioned bargains. Usually more than one club will be interested in such bargains, wages making the difference in most cases. We have a salary-cap of around...

Quique Sanchez Flores. I don't agree Monk was better, he had a full season and TC didn't.
No thanks. Big wages, little proven success.

Re: Keep, release or send out on loan

Thing is, I don't think we need wholesale changes. This squad were playing good football and getting results at the start of the season that's not fluke. We have depth, but it just isn't high enough quality. Only keeping 13 of that squad would be madness and we'd be back to square one. i agree, we ...

Re: Orta on his way

Glad you at least named them rather than 64 who just hides behind hyperbole. Forshaw I think it is easier to judge because he has not needed time to settle with being british and having played a lot of matches. Certainly less of a gamble type signing but the fee reflects that as it was probably mor...

Re: Orta on his way

Good: Saiz, Forshaw, Alioski Righto you name the bad buys and say exactly what you expected for the price we paid for them. Easy to criticise but when paying £500k for a player you will rarely get great players these days. So hypocritical. You say you can't judge players properly in such a short pe...

Re: Orta on his way

I really don't know what people expect from Orta. It seems like he isn't allowed to make even 1 bad signing. If scouting and signing players that suddenly became superb was easy then nobody would make mistakes in the transfer market. Every team makes mistakes and especially when buying from abroad ...
