Nice old clip with some stories of Jack from Billy and John Charles.
Much love for posting this. I hadn't seen it before, but just shows the affection for each other in that great team. Two giants in the history of the city of Leeds, sadly lost.

Re: Annus Horribilis - Jack Charlton

This is so sad to hear. I know he had been in poor health for some years with a form of dementia, but it's still a shock. He joins Billy Bremner, Norman Hunter and Trevor Cherry, and of course, Don Revie. It seems the places in Don's team up there are being filled alarmingly fast by all these ex-pla...

Re: Leeds Utd v Stoke City - MATCH THREAD - Costa & Dallas Return

Still on cloud 9 after that performance. As has been said though, we really do need that first goal. It makes all the difference. Before teh penalty, we looked ponderous, trying to work a way through their packed defence. Once the goal was scored, they had to come out at us. Certain death for opposi...

Re: Che Adams

I would have thought, if we are forced to buy Augustin, he will play in our first team (eventually), not the under 23s. I'm guessing the reason we want to pull out of the deal is more because he is unproven, and at that transfer fee, it's a risk. If we have no option, then it will be back to plan A.

Re: Patrick Bamford

This is the point I was trying to make earlier. Do those people who continually snipe at Bamford, really think they are doing a service to Leeds United? We have no back-up striker. It has to be Bamford. I ask again, why on earth would you, as a Leeds fan, want to talk one of your players down the ro...

Re: Patrick Bamford

In my opinion, Bamford is not the useless donkey some people make him out to be. Yes, he is frustrating, and like most of our team, he misses chances you would expect him to score. But he did score first yesterday and hit the post. It's really tiresome reading these anti-Bamford posts, and to be hon...

Loved the match review Yorkshire Square. I can see you would not be out of place as a football writer for the YEP. I really want to see Pablo leading us in the Premiership. Sure he can still do it!

Re: Cardiff City v Leeds Utd - MATCH THREAD

I thought we looked rusty. Our passing was poor, and we seemed to lack invention. On a number of occasions, I noticed Ben White seemed to have difficulty deciding where to play the ball out of defence. BEN WHITE! Never thought I would say that. Either the players in front of him were not moving arou...

Re: TV The Salisbury Poisonings...

Excellent series and very informative of what went on at the time. Have to say, what an affront to civilization, to use such a deadly toxin on the streets of a city - any city! I think I remember there was enough in the bottle to kill thousands of people, and it wouldn't degrade for 50 years. And to...

Brian Clough and Don Revie on a Calendar special after his sacking.

Just watched this, and have to say, it was the equivalent of 2 world champions meeting in the ring. I never liked Clough for the things it's implied he said about us, but I did feel a little sorry for him in this interview. He seemed to take his punishment well.

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Thur 21st May) Project Restart edges closer

Hi EB an everyone, I honestly believe we will definitely get promotion if we take a minimum of four points from our first two games. And i hope Brentford beat Fulham and then the gap will still be 7 points even if we lose at Cardiff and it's another game chalked off. Chilli I suspect we would do we...

Imagine if we also had a player called Alfred. The commentator could read out the team sheet as Alfred Klich Koch. One for the older members.

Re: Jack Charlton

Have to agree. That team, which didn't vary that much in all the seasons between 1968/9 and 1975, was the benchmark against which I measure all subsequent Leeds teams. Just a delight to watch and support.

Re: Jack Charlton

That was a lovely read 1964. Can you tell me when the interview was. please? I guess it must have been a while ago, as the reports I had heard were that Jack was a dementia sufferer. He was in the team when I started following Leeds as a 13 year old. I've said it before, but that was a wonderful tea...

Re: A day to forget for Leeds United

Yes I remember that. I felt sick for days after, as were the mighty Leeds. When we played it wasn't whether we would win - it was by how many. So quite a shock. The voice of Brian Moore as a commentator. Don't think he has ever been bettered.

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Mon 4th May) - Act of sabotage from PL teams threatens Leeds & West Brom’s promotion

I hope there's some legal obligation for the Premiership to relegate and promote from the Championship. I would guess there is. In which case, they should be afraid of legal proceedings against them for loss of earnings from those clubs like Leeds, who had a realistic chance of getting their nose in...
