Re: Matej Vydra Vs Abel Hernandez vs Fernando Torres

(1)Fernando Torres - Pipe dream but if it can be done he is my pick. May be 34 but you look at some of the ageing strikers like Leon Clarke, Billy Sharp etc who did well last year. Torres even at 34 is twice the player that 90% of championship strikers will ever be. 2) Matej Vydra- Even as a number ...

Matej Vydra Vs Abel Hernandez vs Fernando Torres

Phil Hay saying Bielsa prefers Vydra, so who would be a better signing? Cost wise Vydra is more expensive, a transfer fee probably close to £10mil, wages around the £40k mark. Abel Hernandez is a free agent. Wages similar to Vydra. Abel Hernandez is 28 in August. Championship record with minutes pla...

Re: The LUFC Breakfast Debate (Thur 14 June)

Excellent read Cjay  Hopefully Bielsa would bring us the success we all crave for ! Certainly don't want Bruce anywhere near ER Indeed Leon, the writer did his research  Every appointment is a risk. But a Championship club attracting a manager of that standing is unheard of. Hopefully as ...

Really well written pal.

I suppose with Bielsa its more exciting - its the unknown...

On the downside - its the unknown... :)
I applaud the Villa fan who took the time to research him to write that.

Its all very exciting :)

Marcelo Bielsa

Phil Hay

@PhilHayYEP

A source close to Marcelo Bielsa tells me he intends to sign his contract tonight and will become Leeds United's next head coach. #lufc

Re: The LUFC Breakfast Debate (Thur 14 June)

Do tell.... He's very demanding and I think that goes against him as well as for him. Ancelotti was out of work up until recently, I'll assume you'd take him? Agree his tendency to leave when things don't go his way is concerning and not what Aston Villa need at this point in time. That said we d...

Re: The LUFC Breakfast Debate (Thur 14 June)

Afternoon Cjay LATEST Phil Hay‏@PhilHayYEP To give you an example: message from Bielsa's camp yesterday morning said it was at yes or no stage. Bielsa had made his amendments and was waiting for an answer. Salary not in dispute. But the chances are, Leeds will go back with amendments of their own. ...

Re: The LUFC Breakfast Debate (Thur 14 June)

Update from Guillem Balague (one of the few id believe). Not true Bielsa has work permit as that will come when/if he signs contract that is now in his brother's hands, a top level lawyer in communication with Leeds. Club very hopeful of things moving positively but no timetable to when confirmation...

Re: The LUFC Breakfast Debate (Wed 13 June)

That makes sense. Where we are we can't really afford to give him a long term deal, but if he gets us up it will be extended. Yeah works for us both. He gets a decent wage, some security if he wants it, but should a bigger better offer come in down the line his compensation buyout wouldnt be to mas...

Re: The LUFC Breakfast Debate (Wed 13 June)

Better to have a manager telling Orta and Radz how things shall be then them telling him ?

We tried them telling a manager what to do last season, time for role reversal.

Good coaches make demands, PE teachers just nod and say yes to anything.

Re: Gianni Alioski

DOnt know how Roofe got involved in a discussion about the great Messi of Macedonia. 29 games 14 goals 3 assists for Roofe. 35 games 7 goals 5 assists for Alioski. I would argue Alioski made a difference in bigger games, against Derby, against Boro, got the goal vs Wolves to give us hope, got the as...

Re: The LUFC Breakfast Debate (Wed 13 June)

Afternoon Cjay, its almost impossible for anybody, however good they are to break into the Citeh side. A youth player displacing a 30,40 or 50m player - very rare.... Hi Ell True, but seems Pep has taken a real shine to him according to the city fans, maybe as the heir to David Silva? All rumours b...

Re: The LUFC Breakfast Debate (Wed 13 June)

That would be awesome for the upcoming season but as faaip said, I would be worried if we somehow get to the Premier League and then we have to hand back 4 of the players who got us there. Agreed. But in our position dont think we can afford to be to picky unfortunately. If City are willing to let ...

Re: The LUFC Breakfast Debate (Wed 13 June)

Loan to buy or just borrow for a season? ...I hate progressing other teams players. I doubt they'll be playing much for the U23's ...so if true that's already 4 new first team squad members Think its just a loan. But part of the City business plan i assume is sign talented youngsters, loan them out...

Re: Is he coming or what ???

I know we become pessimistic Bert as we've had so many false dawns over the last 15 years, even though I attend the majority of games season after season I find it more & more difficult to drum up any excitement over my beloved club. I suppose a succession of poor ownership & awful football has mad...

Chatter on twitter that Pep has informed 4 of his youngsters to be ready to go on loan to us if we ask. Angus Gunn-Gk did well for Norwich last season. Lukas Nmecha-forward of German birth but England youth international. Tosin Adarabioyo 6ft5 cb handed a big deal by City last year. Brahim Diaz- Pro...
