Bielsa's Babes

Was reading earlier about the managers Bielsa has influenced. Its pretty incredible really. We all know about Pep Guardiola and his admiration for Bielsa. And Mauricio Pochettino Diego Simeone. Tata Martino ex Barcelona manager Unai Emery the Arsenal boss. Antonio Conte. Zinedine Zidane And lesser k...

Re: Samu Saiz

Made one good pass in the buildup to the goal. Apart from that he was poor again. His only redeeming quality atm is that he is good at running with the ball. But he often holds on to it far to long which kills attacks or plays the wrong pass or plays a bad pass as he did in the buildup for Blackburn...

Re: Square Pegs In Round Holes

Bielsa likes players that can play multiple positions though and he then hopes experience trumps youthful exuberance, It's the way Liverpool played in their pomp. If we stick by MB I think we'll have a top team next season and one that could step up and keep it going without spending 80M on new pla...

Re: Square Pegs In Round Holes

One is bad enough but four is ridiculous, is it any wonder why we looked so unbalanced & much less fluent I can understand it to a degree. Would have been harsh to drop Roberts and Roofe was in great form pre injury. But Hernandez should have started, probably couldn't play 90mins as Bielsa rightfu...

Re: Square Pegs In Round Holes

I'm still scratching my head why Marcelo took those decisions, as you say Cjay it has been proven many times previously that they don't work. One thing we all have in common is we have faith in Bielsa We have faith yes :) But it would be naive to not recognise that playing players out of position u...

That's not what you've posted though
I have now :)

I am very pleased with what Bielsa has done.

But i am concerned by what he has been criticised for in the past, playing players out of position.

Just hope he learns from it.

Now for me Statement A contradicts Statement C.
Nope.

Can be happy to have a manager and support them.

Dont have to have blind loyalty and agree with everything they do.

He's after No.10 shirt
And on Wednesday he should have it (temporarily) :)

Ali left back Clarke left wing.

Re: Square Pegs In Round Holes

I don't agree it's similar to last year at all. Last year whenever we conceded we folded, whereas we seem to play our best when we go behind and you feel there is always a goal in us. But for a magnificent save from Klich, we'd have taken a point yesterday. You also have to take into account we're ...

Re: Square Pegs In Round Holes

Who are we to question Beilsa? Yes I know we all are entitled to an opinion but we must keep the faith, unbelievably we are just 2 points of the top spot and if we can pick up 6 points in our home games this week we will be in a strong position, as I’ve said before if we can hang in there until Xma...

Re: Square Pegs In Round Holes

First time I have been critical of Bielsa To play his full-backs on the wrong flanks is ridiculous Tom Pearce is a natural LB, what has he done wrong. Dallas is not a defender, not sure what he gives to the team tbh Why play Roofe on the wing, proven last season he isn't a winger. He did what so ma...

Re: Square Pegs In Round Holes

I personally didn't like the the team selection or the way we lined-up There was no need to play one player out of their natural position let alone four  A recipe for a disaster & so it was proven ! This  Bielsa has done some great things. But playing players out of position out of nece...

Re: Blackburn v Leeds - MAN OF THE MATCH

Klich- again was class, made tackles, looked composed and scored. Clarke- he did for us in his cameo what Armstrong did all game, was direct and positive. Phillips- Thought he did a decent job of keeping Dack quiet. Alioski- made some great runs and crosses that nobody was there for. Jansson- best d...

Still seems rooted to his line and his distribution isnt good enough imo.

Done a decent job but we really should have signed a better gk in the Summer imo.

Re: Jack Clarke

Another really impressive cameo from Jack. Yes he did overplay at one point. But he was so positive, running at full backs, winning corners, taking shots. Pleased Bielsa gave him another chance and surely pushing for a start vs Ipswich? Bottom of the table, low on confidence at Elland Road. I think ...

Armstrong made both Berardi & Dallas look daft
We were poor out wide today imo.

The balance wasnt right with to much swapping and players clearly not playing in the right positions.

Re: Square Pegs In Round Holes

That's how we fans see it, but lets face it if any of us are allowed to pick the team we'd be bottom 5 right now. Easy from a distance with a large helping of hindsight. MB is atm miles ahead of where he should be and tbh I agree with this keeping of continuity, I hate reactive changes they seldom ...

Square Pegs In Round Holes

First things first. Marcelo Bielsa has done a great job so far with what we have. On paper our squad is probably about mid table, so to be where we are now is a great achievement. Indeed we perhaps are a tad unfortunate to not have a few more points, we should have beaten Wednesday and perhaps Birmi...

Thought both Berardi and Dallas were rinsed by Armstrong.

And when our own pacey direct winger came on he did the same to there full back.

Common theme unfortunately in his career

Just hope he lets common sense take over.
