Re: Hull City v Leeds Utd Match Thread - Meslier and Phillips Start

Difference between three points and one in our competition. No place to lay down a bet where I live. I will be putting a nice one down next Saturday, however, and it will be on Leeds 3-0 Huddersfield Considering the last two games were away against sides that need points , I would have been happy w...

Re: Hull City v Leeds Utd Match Thread - Meslier and Phillips Start

Love that and exactly what I've said for so long now, does all the unseen donkey work but produces moments of sublime class. I always argue the point when I see Klich back to form posts ..He's played like that most of the season .. And to think Heckingbottom and Christiansen didn't rate him or pref...

I just wish we could score more goals.

Its astounding that we are 1st for shots 1st for shots on target 1st for chances created.

But the worst side for shot conversion the worst side for big chances missed.
Its the Bamford factor :)

Updated with loans of De Bock and Shaughnessy, and cancelled contracts of Anita and Nicell. Still can't rid of Bouy, though.
Or O'Kane .

Re: Stoke City v Leeds Utd Match Thread

Tricky though because pace is such a valuable weapon from the bench against tired defenders and as we saw with Jack Clarke last season he was nowhere near as effective when he started matches. If you start with pace and it doesn't work then in Bamford and Harrison you would then have 2 substitutes ...

Re: Paddy Bamford and Ireland.

He is miles away from an English cap, it would be good for him to play international football and it was a good decision not to play this season and concentrate on getting fit for Leeds, even if he didn’t quite hit his top level. He’d certainly get plenty of game time in green, but he has to want t...

Re: Could I have done more?

I've got a friend in Brum , a few years ago , a friend of his said to him something along the lines of " you've been a failure in life , what have you done " . Now to me , the only person who can judge a life is yourself , no one else has the right to say you are a failure , especially when I think ...

Re: Could I have done more?

OK, so, not a football related topic, but one I am pondering more and more these days. I'm not for the knackers yard just yet, but I acknowledge i'm closer to the end than the beginning these days. whats your regrets? Did you accomplish all you wanted to? Do you wish you had done things differently...

It can hard to get into the England team sometimes, much easier with Ireland.
He should look for relatives in small Pacific Islands...... such as Vanatu . Have a reasonable chance of international caps there .

Re: Paddy Bamford and Ireland.

Bamford had talks with Mick McCarthy earlier in the year about declaring for the Republic, he qualifies through his grandparents. At the time said he would like to wait until the season was over before making a decision. Wowuld he be good for them? Is he hanging on in case England call? They must b...

Re: Dan James-DEAL IS OFF

Agreed, Bielsa is the type of manager who can help him become a better player. If it was 10 years ago, they were up the top and Ferguson was still there then its a no brainer unfortunately. No he is gone you can appreciate him a bit more imo and it would have been an honour for James to work under ...

Re: Dan James-DEAL IS OFF

Tbf Sanchez when he signed was a world class player. Didnt work out for whatever reason but even so he was class. Been a few like that - Forlan , Pogba ( first time , arguably both times ) , Veron to name a few ...... happens to all clubs , but those there went on to great things elsewhere and befo...

Re: Ipswich Town v Leeds Utd Match Thread

I'm never ever going to see Leeds at Ipswich again. They never win when I go and I only went this time because I thought we were nailed on for a win. Ipswich hadn't scored in their previous three games for Christ sake! I am not sure if they have scored 3 in one game this season . Their strike force...

Re: Leeds Utd v Aston Villa Match Thread

I wonder would Smith have done the same had the roles been reversed, very much doubt it. Bit of class from MB, though not surprising. Unlike Bamford, who should hang his head in shame. And oh the irony of that despicable c**t Terry trying to take the moral high ground. All the madness detracted fro...

Re: Champions League

I once had to go to A&E in France and the doctor who treated me, was a St Ettienne supporter, he remembered both finals and was "overjoyed" to be sent to study at Leeds University when he was younger, he felt an affection to Leeds as we were both robbed by Bayern. Leeds became his English team :) I...
