After a hiatus during the off-season, I think my optimism and excitement for this season, in vast contrast with last, comes from avoiding these arguments.
See you around folks, and hope you all enjoy the new season! Mon the Leeds!! :scarf1: :scarf2:

Re: Leeds v Burnley - Team/Reports/Ratings
Last season we were uninspiring and lacked any direction. Our signings were made with little regards to any strategy. The managerial appointment was hopeless at best, helpless at worst. Our background staff was thrown into disarray as one man wanted to run the whole f'n show and fell out with everyo...

Re: Eintracht Frankfurt v Leeds Utd - Team/Reports/Ratings
Agree mostly but I don't understand why you listed Matt Smith in the same category as Paynter and Antenucci. Smith got 14 goals in 25 starts for us and helped McCormack a lot. It was a huge mistake selling him especially for less than £500,000 (rumoured.) Smith was the one every expected to fail bu...

Re: Eintracht Frankfurt v Leeds Utd - Team/Reports/Ratings
Any striker will look bad if they have to shoot because nothing else is on for them. Completely agree with this. When Becchio was here, we had the likes of Snodgrass and Gradel creating chances from the wings. Since then, and still do this day, we haven't had talent close to those two. We've tried ...

Re: LEEDS UNITED TRANSFER RUMOURS + In's & Out's
really? I'd say if Sidwell arrives we're either selling one of the big three or one of them is sitting on the bench to start games. At least for the first month or two of the season. Agree. The CM enforcer we sign will be starting the game until injury/poor form/better alternatives happen. Cook, Mo...

Re: Cameron Stewart into Leeds for 800,000
Like I said before, the FL have to deem the contract valid for Stewart to get his money at the same time deeming it invalid having sent it back. They're basically saying the contract is invalid and the FL do not accept it, but we also deem it valid and threaten you with an embargo if you do not hon...

Re: LEEDS UNITED TRANSFER RUMOURS + In's & Out's
Other than last season, he was only in his late teens early 20's, so a fair return, certainly not outstanding but at 23, he's a good age, and should be coming into his prime in a year or two. Also worth remembering, even if you took a striker who got 20 goals consistently over 3 seasons and put him...

Re: LEEDS UNITED TRANSFER RUMOURS + In's & Out's
Other than Byram, what player have we kept for more than 2 years? They are either dog s**t and we want rid of them so badly that we lose out financially, or they are good and want away. Signing young only works if you have all intentions of keeping them, but if there is a young player, scoring consi...

Re: LEEDS UNITED TRANSFER RUMOURS + In's & Out's
is/was he hated more than dioufy ? Our fans rarely hate people based on reputation or background, but rather commitment and talent. Diouf was a trouble maker but he showed his commitment to Leeds and became our trouble maker. I reckon the same would happen with Barton, easily. Morison looked lethar...

Re: Non Leeds transfer news and rumours
Micah Richards to Villa on a free. Always thought it was strange he got so little game time at City as he seemed decent to me, and they're always wanting more English players to make up the numbers for Europe... Maybe he has attitude problems? Only 26 too, and probably a good addition for Villa. Wi...

Re: Three things Uwe Rosler needs to do at Leeds
Good article again Shields! With regards to 'restoring belief', I would suggest most of our recent managers have instilled as much belief in the team as their restrictions allowed. Redfearn, McDermott, Grayson, (not so much Warnock). Our top players at the time always praised the managers attitudes....

Re: Sandwiches/Food Hygiene
You have hit the nail on the head Mango. You see similar stories here - for example on current affairs shows that 'test supermarkets' and find thousands of germs. Really? Big surprise, germs are everywhere. Unless the supermarket showers itself in bleach 24 hours a day, you will find thousands of g...

Re: Sandwiches/Food Hygiene
I'm sure if people started researching the food they ate, most people would come across as horrified. Fast food, frozen food, pre made sandwiches... it's cheap, fast food, it's not going to be treated with the utmost care. The only way to ensure properly made food is making it yourself. Even then yo...

Re: OFFICIAL SIGNED
Nice to see us working quickly in the transfer market. I'm especially chuffed to see Bamba sign as he's a known entity that can do a job for us. Still not officially signed. Just plenty of strong rumours that he is likely to sign tomorrow. All could change within that time as we well and truly know...

Re: Next Manager/Rosler/other management appointed
In this topic; any news that may portray Cellino in a negative light is pure speculation. Any good news and praise be to Cellino and the holiest of ghosts. It was clear in the press conferences that the level headed Pearson saw the worth of Redfearn. Big respect to him. He may well go when another j...

“I think that next season will be better. The president will be back together with the players, the team and the new coach,” he said. “I have to play like the last month and I’m looking for us to have a good team to go to the Premier League.” “I came to England not for a joke, I came to England to ...

Re: Non Leeds transfer news and rumours
Perhaps... Benteke was injured/unfit for half the season though, he'd be an excellent signing for most Premiership teams I reckon. It's just baffling that, in the season following a 2nd place finish and having got near on £60m for Suarez, they would have been able to attract and afford someone much...

Any news on Glover, or whoever it will be at this stage?
Head has currently visited 19 countries on his around the world holiday; can he make it back before someone else is appointed?

Re: Non Leeds transfer news and rumours
Ings to Liverpool. Rodgers' record of signing of mediocre strikers continues! Good bit of business for once from Rogers. Liverpool aren't a Champions League team anymore and aren't going to attract the top strikers, they missed that boat. Most people watching the Premier League were baffled that no...

Re: Cellino outlines lofty ambitions.....
At the minute we are Bamba and Austin down, that is 2 key players for us last season. We need to sign two strong players to cover these positions before we look at improving on that team. We are also a minimum of 2 wingers short for the 4-3-3 formation Rosler is suggesting we move forward with. And ...
