If anybody is interested in seeing how we arrived at this situation then I recommend watching the Documentary Bitter Lake by Adam Curtis. It's currently on iplayer.

Return of the Hock
MEDIA RELEASE Coventry City have appointed Dave Hockaday as the new Professional Development coach until the end of the season. Re: ello ello ello wot's all this then???
Well Ridsdale, Krasner, Bates, GFH and Cellino all thought they could too and look where we are now! Took the words out of my mouth as it were! Good luck to them, my understanding is Swansea have a similar ownership model, they haven't done to bad. Especially passing Leeds on the way up considering...

Re: O/T - The movies / Television thread
So EX Machina is great. I kind of wish it had the same budget as Interstellar which I found bloated and conceited but it was as good as I hoped. Oscar Issac plays a blinder you really hate his character! I can also recommend another of Dr Kermode's favourites from last year, Transcendence. Quite how...

Re: O/T - The movies / Television thread
Yeah, Ex-Machina looks interesting. Wild is meant to be good, but it's not my kind of film. Big Hero 6 looks good too (though a kids film obviously). Next up for me is Inherent Vice, though, love Paul Thomas Anderson and it looks really funny. Yeah Paul Thomas Anderson is great director. Think Magn...

Re: O/T - The movies / Television thread
I too was a little disappointed with foxcatcher but whiplash definitely lived up to the hype.
EX Machina is next on my list to see and apparently Wild is really good as well.

Re: Attack in France - Police Operation Live On Sky Now !
From what I read yesterday, there are far too many of these type to keep them all on surveillance 24/7. Even the high priority ones outnumber the amount of surveillance operatives european countries have. Well they have more technology and anti-terror legislation available than ever before. If not ...

Re: Attack in France - Police Operation Live On Sky Now !
Surprise Surprise the main suspects were well known to authorities, were on the US no fly list, had travelled to Yemen for a training camp. There should have been much more surveillance on this pair this keeps on happening it makes you wonder sometimes what is going on with the security authorities ...

As a kid I was brought in the back streets of Leeds, three of my best friends were Saaid Mohammed & Jamill from Pakistan & a lovely lad called Horace of West Indian origin. Two of the best consultants I've had the pleasure of their marvelous profession when I was very poorly in my 20's were...

Re: Attack in France
Like the above guy said it's a very nuanced issue. Fair enough we have freedom of speech, but on the other hand if you draw a cartoon of mohammed with a bomb in his turban or whatever it was then that's going to p!ss people off. When they reprinted those images there was only ever going to be one o...
