Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2017

Lasogga to Leeds on a season long loan is a done deal according to Hamburgs official Twitter feed . Gayle is a non starter according to YEP It seems that Hamburg jumped the gun on that. Last night's tweet deleted and YEP now saying deal close but not done. Apparently depends on agreeing what % of h...

Re: Forest v Leeds - MAN OF THE MATCH

Phillips - covered a huge amount of ground to keep Forest quiet, passed simple and well, assist for the second goal.

Anita - always looked composed whether defending or getting forward.

Alioksi - took some time to get going against Traore, but fantastic after 40 mins or so.

Re: LUFC LGBT

I'm not suggesting that an LGBT group is going to reduce homophobia, although it may be one of it's longer term goals. Rather, given the current levels of homophobia among some fans then I can understand why some LGBT people would want to band together for mutual support. And it's not just among fan...

Anybody wondering if there is a need for an LGBT group should watch this - the first 10 seconds should be enough.

A quick Google gives "LGBT, or GLBT, is an initialism that stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender".

Re: Saturday Breakfast Debate - Signings

Bremner, Giles, Stiles, Ball ? ... were great players who played at a time before strict diets and extensive gym work bulked up even average players to be a lot stronger. I can't think of any such short centre midfielders thriving in the current championship. I think they would be muscled off the b...

Re: Elland Road Buy Back....CONFIRMED!

Does anyone know why it's the parent company, and not Leeds United Football Club Limited that has bought ER? The cynic in me wonders whether that means that in the future the club can be sold separately to the stadium, and we'd be back where we were. On the plus side, certainly a statement of intent...

Re: Elland Road Building Work

The downside of that stand is that it came with ticket prices that exclude vast swathes of the old fanbase, leading to a deathly atmosphere (at least on the night we were there). Also, I can't imagine you can see much from the back of the first tier upwards. (I once had a grim night in the upper sec...

Re: Who do we want in the championship next season ?

I have a feeling that derby games are generally tougher for us - player quality and tactics go out the window and the result is even more unpredictable than for other champtionship fixtures. For that reason, I'd prefer non-local oppositions.

Re: New Ronaldo Vieira Song

I dream of a time when his twin Romario makes the first team too, so centre mid is Vieira x2. Then we could sing with real conviction "He's here, he's there, he's f***ing everywhere, Vieira, Vieira".

Re: Newcastle v Leeds - Team/News/Reports/Ratings

I woke up this morning with two thoughts... 1. Leeds' fitness this season is phenomenal compared with how it's been for a long time. That was a class goal at any point in a match, but the thoughtful patient build up, two clinical passes and killer finish were clear signs that the players were physic...

Re: Films you can watch until the cows come home !

I wouldn't rate them as great films, or even among my favourites, but the two films I've ended up watching countless times are A Few Good Men, and Die Hard.

Favourites (those that made most impact when I first watched them) include Trainspotting and The Dark Knight.

Re: Wood Injured

My optimistic view is that the "injury" story is a cover to allow Wood home early in order to be fresh for rest of the season. I read elsewhere that the NZ coach was already planning several changes for the game today, suggesting that he didn't feel the need to be at full strength.

a "tourist club"?

I thought this Liverpool fan expressed very well some serious problems with football at the upper end of the Premier League.

Much as I want to see Leeds back up there, I don't think I'd want it if it's at the cost of us becoming a "tourist club".

Thoughts?
