Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Wed 26th June)

Of those names, Costa is certainly the most exciting, though Kent did win young player of the season in the SPL. Harrison was here so I'll factor him out, but if we brought in Costa/Kent or both I'd say that's an upgrade (on a purely playing sense) on Clarke. White is an odd one, given the kids we a...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Tue 25th June)

First time I've seen Leeds shirts here in St Ives, two fans i encountered individually & both season-tickets holders whom watch Leeds home & away, one lives in Swannie's city Wakefield. First name on their lips was Phillips saying he was outstanding last season, funny enough both were critical of C...

Re: Player Profile : Patrick Bamford

They are two completely different players which I'd imagine causes some issues. Roofe the consummate off the ball striker, at his best dragging defenders out of position and using burst and clever feet to leave them for dead. You have to pass to the space for him so clearly demonstrated by the pass...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Tue 25th June)

I'm not sure about a salary cap for players, but maybe for clubs. That would keep the average down, but allow for 1 or 2 on big wages. With Iturraspe I think it depends on Forshaw. If he stays then we'll need another player who can play close to Phillips' role and he'd definitely buy into the work t...

Re: Player Profile : Patrick Bamford

Keep. An injury free season and hopefully he'll have a bigger impact.

Think it's a toss up between him and Roofe for the starting position, but based on last season he's bench for me.

Re: 2019/20 Transfer Rumours & Discussion Thread

It's not that we're selling him. I'm sad to see him gone already, but I accept we have to sell under ffp. My point is why are we always ripped off yet the likes of Brentford and Bristol City get top whack? No disrespect meant to them, but we have much bigger turnover and commercial income than them...

Re: Playlist over the last week......

I went to see Hop Along the week before last and they were supported by a solo artist called Sidney Gish who I thought was excellent... Its been a long time since I felt compelled to go and listen to a support act's music after a gig! Both her albums are great (and 'pay what you want') on bandcamp, ...

Re: 2019 Women's World Cup

Another goal for White in this tournament through VAR for a correct straight-forward offside decision. Cameroon spit their dummy out & refuse to kick-off. Amazing scenes as the game eventually continued in the last few minutes of the first-half. Cameroon players accusing FIFA officials of racism......

Re: Concerning Transfer Policy

Bielsa will have had assurances before signing the extension and I have no doubt that Radz will want to fulfill promises made to avoid losing MB. We don't need an overhaul though - we were (imo) 2 or 3 injuries away from promotion, rather than 2 or 3 signings. If we keep this squad together and mayb...

Re: Player Profile : Kemar Roofe

Keep as striker. He's our starting number 9 unless someone else is brought in. If he eats fit he scores 20+.

Contract is an issue, but I can see it getting sorted regardless of TOMA.

8 out of 10. One of the 3 most influential players this year.

6./10 = had early promise but then injures had an impact on form. Sometimes i feel his knack of scoring tap ins etc kept him on the pitch when he was having a bad game
No better reason for keeping a striker on the pitch tbf ;-)

Re: 2019/20 Transfer Rumours & Discussion Thread

"From a footballing point of view, he’s almost a free spirit. He has the ability to go past three players at any given point, when others would have passed the ball and moved to a different area. We don't need another kid who wants to beat their man repeatedly, we need someone who can beat their ma...

Re: Player Profile : Tyler Roberts

Keep as a squad player.

Don't really know what his best position is, but he had a couple of great performances at 10 and some decent ones up front. He's got pace and the direct running which scare defenders, but he needs to pick a pass better.

7 for me.

Re: Player Profile : Kalvin Phillips

I do see where weasel is coming from, and I don't think Kalvin is anywhere as good as some make out, but he really has been the standout improved player under Bielsa. I don't really think we should be selling any of last year's starting 11 if we can help it - would rather sell Clarke as we have othe...

Re: Player Profile : Liam Cooper

This is a hard one. He's definitely improved since being here, but as has been said, I don't think he's anywhere near the other top level championship CBs. He did get into the team of the season though. I always try to judge players on whether other teams around is would take them. Players like Pont...

Aston Villa have signed forward Jota from local rivals Birmingham for an undisclosed fee on a two-year contract. Villa midfielder Gary Gardner, 26, has gone in the opposite direction, joining the Championship side for an undisclosed fee on a three-year deal. Its going to be important that we hold o...

Re: Player Profile : Pontus Jansson

I'm (again) on the same page as weasel here. Best CB at the club so I would keep him and he'd be starting every game. Bielsa doesn't seem to hold him in that regard for whatever reason. Remember, he only got his place back when Berardi got injured and then didn't get it back in the semi second leg a...

Douglas has had one season with us in which he missed half of it injured and was probably n...
