Re: RIP Twiggster

Such sad news, Spent many evenings talking to Twiggster and listening to Radio Aire back in the day whilst in the game chatroom. The tears of laughter one evening stuck with me when he rung into the post match phone in with Bradders, when the Krasner consortium owned us and he was immediately cut of...

Re: TC Sacked

Nice guy, but felt his tactical nounce for someone that had got the job based on his homework hasn't quite understood the championship in recent weeks.

Club has had to make a decision to try and recover the season and the top 6 aim now it would seem

Re: Leeds v Cardiff - Team/News/Reports/Ratings

Long time since I posted - have given it 24hours since leaving ER yesterday to try and soak up/fathom what happened... The drive home along the M62 home was ten-fifteen minutes of bewilderment, swearing and fuming... I've tried to be 'fair' and considered the fact that we have a ridiculous amount of...

Re: Your Opinion , Who is Staying and going

I think the only real question marks for me outwardly would be Adryan, Bianchi & Douks, on the whole the teams starting to gel and is a relatively small squad with the majority of the squad generally on the fringes. I'm told that there's still a few starlets to come through the ranks yet which o...

Relegation Battle?

With a side lacking in Championship experience, an inability to string passes together that come to any sort of even half a chance on goal with no clear cut leader in the camp we're relegation fodder at the minute... All the talent in the world doesn't make up for a lack of a leader with some physic...

He can quite easily just put his son etc. in temporary control/charge of the club....
Don't the FL have rulings around Shadow Directors which means that he in effect can't just put his son in charge and sit in the background?

Re: Football League: Cellino Disqualified

Just listening to Cellino giving an interview on Sky - seems like he's happy to kick on and fight, pleading that he's not guilty by Italian law and is in Bahrain meeting with GFH to raise £5m from them and £15m from him to put into the club? Cellino : 'I am not going to run away....' but then in the...

Re: Let Bygones Be Bygones & Show More Respect To One Anothe

Bloody hell... it's taken me four evenings to read through all this.. I remember this place (back in the good ol' days) when we had an obscure thread started by a former poster called Steve that was called something like 'Warning: gratuitous images' which went on for pages and pages of members all p...

It would seem not - I hope it doesn't mean that Radio Leeds loses it's coverage as a result.

Did Bates linger around Chelsea for years after he left them?

Re: Haigh Arrested in Dubai

Thought about this a few times...and wondered if the following scenario played out how people would 'feel'... Mr A. is appointed as MD of a large football club whom he has supported for many years. He quickly discovers that the promised backing from his 'employers' doesn't materialise and is left to...

Or having visited the Thai in your 'threads' the take away owner thought this poor bugger has only got one decent set of clothes I best return them to the dry cleaners in the hope that they can get his clothes back to him as he was starting to scare the neighbourhood....

Sorry H! :-D

Re: Hockaday gone? Who would we replace him with?

Seems strange that Cellino is taking the shouldering of the blame and taking time to consider things when he's clearly a guy who acts very much on impulse, but maybe it's a calculated move to take the sting out of what could be bad results over the next week against Bradford and Bolton to allow him ...

Re: Hockaday gone? Who would we replace him with?

tony pulis anyone?... ...I can dream :) Would be a good appointment given what he did under his tenure at Stoke and his experience but the key to any 'managerial' appointment would be how much ground Cellino would be prepared to give on control as I'd expect most managers worth their salt would wan...

Re: Leeds v Watford: Team/Reports/Ratings

I assure you, being against the selection of Hockaday was never about picking sides just for the hope of gloating, it was simply common sense pointing out the probability of failure. Spot on! Hockaday is clearly tactically out of his depth or is simply acting upon orders from above on team selectio...

Re: Leeds v Brighton: Team/Reports/Ratings

Cellino gave BMcD five games to show him he was the man for the job at the end of last season - he lost one of the five games with a squad of players that were referred to as 's**t' and still sacked the manager.... Based on a 20% loss rate and coming off the back of yet another turbulent period off ...

Re: has anyone changed there mind yet?

They do say one swallow doesn't make a summer.... And having got all excited that we may have found a way to gel a team together and that Hockaday possibly had some form of tactical nouse as he changed the game against Middlesborough in the second half... We seem to have drifted back to our 'default...

Re: Leeds v Middlesbro' - MAN OF THE MATCH

Warnock edged out Sharp for me - not sure if anyone noticed but Warnock seemed to be gee'ing up the rest of the team as I saw him giving his teammates a few 'come on we can do this' gestures on a few occassions - maybe he should be given the Captains armbands if he can keep putting that level of per...
