Re: Bielsa style with cherries on the cake

Ok then, surpass their status. We may have to consolidate in our first season up & build from there Balls to that, qualify for champions league first season back up then European Champions and League winners in season 2. Not too fussed about the cups but maybe get the FA Cup too in our first season...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate Thursday 19th September) All the latest news from Elland Road

My instinct is that Klich is the best passer of a football at LUFC and that seldom gets recognized by the extremely simplistic passes completed stat..As a stat it's completely useless, almost as bad as the shots on goal one. Progressive passing seems to suggest passing into key areas rather than a ...

Hopefully we're the Bournemouth of the championship this season & go onto emulate their achievements in the prem!
What mid table mediocrity towards bottom of the table year in year out? They have done well with what they have but we surely have to aim higher if we get into the prem.

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate Thursday 19th September) All the latest news from Elland Road

We are currently paying near £1m pounds a year for TA so given a 25 year life the facilities pay for themselves in that regard. They will also hope to get money from the FA and Sport England for the Parklife element of the development. We are paying £1m for a facility that isn't as good, category w...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate Thursday 19th September) All the latest news from Elland Road

No surprise at all Klich is the best passer at Leeds. I guess the word progressive being key here. I'd think that is a better indicator of passing ability than completed passes. The progressive thing isn't particularly clear. Something to do with the pass going forward 30 metres from your own half....

Wonder if Costa not appearing for the u23s is an indication that he will start vs Derby?
Or maybe with him playing for the full second half v Barnsley it was felt he didn't need to play to boost match fitness.

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Tue 17th September) Leeds youngsters run riot

Eddie getting 45 mins just helps to keep him sharp and his confidence levels up. I'm reading Ian Wrights book st the minute and he followed the same pattern when he joined Palace, late cameos with the first team backed up by playing for the reserves. Then he took over as No1 striker. Maybe Eddie wi...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Tue 17th September) Leeds youngsters run riot

The thing is with the players we sold where would Wilkes be on our pecking order? Costa can't even start, neither can Clarke. Wilkes probably raised his game against us but would he fit into a Bielsa team where he has to run for 90 minutes rather than sporadic bursts? There were also the question ma...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Monday 16th September) - Leeds leave it late against Barnsley

Weasel you started by saying we didn’t suffer burnout then went on to describe our players burning out. It begins in the mind and affects decisions you make which then make it harder for the body to catch up. It affects recovery times between games. It is caused by trying to carry too much too ofte...

Re: Derby Fans

They know they lost the play-off final don't they? They seem to talk about it like they won. But they didn't, and as such beating us in the semi means absolutely f**k all! That's the thing - our 'revenge' was simply watching Villa beat them as they failed to get lucky twice. If they'd have won the ...

Re: Barnsley v Leeds Utd Match Thread - Shackleton starts for Forshaw

You're are correct Weasel, Bielsa obviously thinks so too! Already made my point above that we need Cooper to continue his good form, not turning on Coops at all, just stating the fact he seemed a bit sluggish yesterday which could be down to his injury & no rest over the last two weeks In some way...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Monday 16th September) - Leeds leave it late against Barnsley

I'm sorry Harry, but Bielsa has to have a plan B. He also needs to rotate the players otherwise its burnout by February You don't need a Plan B if Plan A is effective and so far the only failure this season was against Swansea - and Neketiah missed the best chance of the match. So far the plan is w...

Re: Kiko Casilla

Kiko Casilla, a keeper redeemed? Solid performances this season, some good saves, kept us in a few games. I made the point in the matchday thread that Kiko made the saves that needed making and kept us from going behind and potentially losing the game. This is a major difference to last year when B...

Re: Barnsley v Leeds Utd Match Thread - Shackleton starts for Forshaw

Cooper still thinks he is playing for Scotland, looked tired after his international exploits Was Bamford offside ? looked dubious. Worth noting that Cooper had been carrying a bit of a knock prior to the international break then played in 2 very tough matches for Scotland so may not have been at 1...

Re: Barnsley v Leeds Utd Match Thread - Shackleton starts for Forshaw

All championship teams deploy this trait + time-wasting to disrupt our play Pathetic scenario when they were the home side & drawing 0-0 I think it may also be that the opposition just wants a breather as they are not used to playing a side with our intensity. I remember last season when we looked ...

Re: Barnsley v Leeds Utd Match Thread - Shackleton starts for Forshaw

Barnsley caused us more problems then any other side we have played this season - certainly did they were the only team we have played that actually tried to play against us rather than just try to soak up pressure and look to nick a goal. Positives. We have finally found a pen taker - maybe a bit ...

Re: Barnsley v Leeds Utd Match Thread - Shackleton starts for Forshaw

That was a well fought three points. I think last season that would have went the way of QPR or Brum, but our quality off the bench is there for all to see. Harrison has improved this season but I wonder if the boss will start with Costa next week after his contribution. I think for me one big diff...
