Re: What are you doing today ?

But why do they want to come here?? It is not to escape war zones... they have done that whilst in Europe, so they have to be only economic migrants, and as such any perils that they put themselves in, or their families, is purely their choice, no one is forcing them to come here from the safety of...

Re: Coronavirus.......LOCKDOWN IMMINENT!

I believe we are in agreement here. My point was countries are doing it differently which isn't really helping give a true reflection on Covid19 deaths. :bear: The trouble is that it will only be long after the event that we will be able to really judge whether this was massively over-hyped or as s...

Re: Most popular player?

In a rare shock I agree with Peter. Well perhaps the Eddie Gray comparisons are a little premature but Harrison has greatly impressed me with his continued improvement. I would have thought the majority of fans didn't really want him back in the summer, he'd showed the occasional flash but not enoug...

Re: What are you doing today ?

The trouble is we judge without looking at the person. We don't see the person we see freeloaders - well guess what go to any council estate anywhere in the country and there are millions of freeloaders that were born and bred in England and could trace their descendants back several generations and...

Re: Coronavirus.......LOCKDOWN IMMINENT!

I believe the figures coming out of Germany about as much as I believe the figures coming out of China!! Twiggs lives in Germany, his balcony overlooks a supermarket car park (nice image I know lol), he says every night there are mass gatherings of mainly Turkish, Russian and East European immigran...

Re: Coronavirus.......LOCKDOWN IMMINENT!

I would object to your last statement, no health authority in the world would cope with a high peak of infections at once. Germany seems to be. We would certainly have been in a far better position if we didn't need to build new hospitals to replace all those that been shut down in recent years and...

Ok then. We cannot tow them straight back to France, we tow them back enough to release the dinghies within French boundaries... Enough is enough, we cannot take in more people. Australia were strong.... they had that boat full of Chinese in storm conditions, they said NO and refused to let them la...

Re: Coronavirus.......LOCKDOWN IMMINENT!

I'm getting increasingly frustrated with my family!! I live in Leeds, my mum lives in Doncaster and so does my sister and her family. Sister working from home, brother in law still working, (decorator so not a key worker) teenage son at home. Eldest son is a teacher who works away. He came home bri...

Re: Coronavirus Government Update - Warning Sweary

The trouble is that no country seems to have developed an exit plan. As such people are left in a state of limbo and become so depressed at there being no light at the end of tunnel that people will eventually crack. There needs to be an exit strategy cos all we have at the moment is delaying tactic...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Monday 6th April) Bakke recalls fateful night in Istanbul

Playing Saturday, Wednesday, Saturday, Wednesday etc for the remaining 9 matches would take 4 weeks and I would imagine that is what they would look at doing and then try to wrap the play-offs up quickly maybe along the lines of just 1 legged semi finals with the 3rd place team at home to 6th placed...

Re: Sky news report - The Red zone

Interesting part for me was, people here saying that any death and the patient has the virus then it's put down as a CV death. He said it is the opposite. Well I suppose it all comes down to numbers - he said that patients that just had a fever and cough were sent home so it boils down to whether t...

Re: Luciano Becchio, Cult hero or genuine legend?

I think with legends you have to ascertain their importance in the era in which they played. Were many players more important than Becchio in the seasons he played for us? Certainly you could argue Beckford was more important in the promotion year as he scored more goals but then Beckford didn't sco...

Re: Luciano Becchio, Cult hero or genuine legend?

Didn't Chappie get the Div 1 golden boot one season ? His partnership with Rod Wallace (always think RW was somewhat undervalued) was fantastic :) Yes I think it was our first season back in the top flight and I think he got something like 31 goals (in all competitions) that season. Chapman's contr...

Glad we didn't go to Tesco then...We went to Sainsburys and apart from the queue you could go in with two. Plus once in you could go anywhere at anytime ( I think Tesco use a set route? ) .. Had to buy expensive eggs (well for us) and no peanut butter or peas, other than that extremely successful. ...

This week grey skies, cold miserable weather, stuck indoors, boredom increasing, partners getting on each others nerves, parents running out ...

Re: Coronavirus.......LOCKDOWN IMMINENT!

The figures are being greatly distorted as every death if being reported as a Corona death if the person had the virus. However the vast majority of these deaths would have happened regardless. That is the crux of the issue as just because someone has the virus doesn't mean it is the biggest single ...
