Re: 2019/20 Transfer Rumours & Discussion Thread

Harvey Barnes played every week for West Brom and Leicester still recalled him. Brighton might want him back as competition as he's doing so well. All depends on what clauses are in the contract - obviously Leicester had inserted the clause for Barnes but presumably Brighton haven't - although I wo...

Re: 2019/20 Transfer Rumours & Discussion Thread

When looking at how well White has done I can't help but wonder if he'd have done anywhere near as well at any other club. Biesla somehow has managed to transform average players (Cooper, Dallas etc) into good players and potentially good players (KP, White etc) into great players. Bielsa has made B...

The same Whelan that used to rave about Hadi Sacko and kept saying he brought more to the team than Roofe did.

Re: 2019/20 Transfer Rumours & Discussion Thread

Christ people just want to always have a pop. Of course it will be quieter in January than in the summer. New arrivals in January have to hit the ground running and get used to Bielsa's methods whereas those arriving in the summer can have a few weeks and even then it wasn't long enough in the case ...

Re: Injuries

Bad luck more than anything. Bamford wasn't particularly injury prone before coming to us and don't know enough about the others at their previous clubs. Players want to play although some will always be more injury prone than others. If you buy an injury prone player then you'd be a fool to not exp...

Re: Daniel Ayala, Any legs?

Feel it is just lay journalism based solely on the fact Orta signed him once before. As has been previously mentioned he isn't really a footballing centreback in the mould Bielsa prefers so if he were to sign he would probably be 8th choice behind White, Cooper, Berardi, Ayling, KP, Strujyk, Davis a...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Monday 11th November) - Bamford back on the scoresheet

Although it was a soft penalty it was 100% a penalty as the Blackburn player completely missed the ball and clattered into Ayling. It was just a bad mistake from the Blackburn player. Heard a stat the other day that Man Utd have had 17 penalties since Solsjkaaer took over in Decmeber - so 17 penalti...

Re: QSI In Talks With Radz (Phil Hay Update)

The valuation AR puts on the club is sensible given where we sit in the league table and how close we came last year. Whilst the figure is high for a championship club it would be ludicrously low for a premiership club and that is where the gamble is for any future buyer and indeed the gamble for AR...

Re: Leeds Utd v Blackburn Rovers Match Thread - Bielsa names unchanged starting XI

But the question struck me yesterday during the game, why does Harrison get more of the ball on the left than Costa on the right? Seems to be two parts to this answer. Probably the simple reason is that Jack is completely in tune with Bielsaball and knows where he is meant to be on the pitch at all...

Re: Helder Costa

one excellent run producing one opportunity that our other inconsistent winger should have finished off better is not great in 90 minutes The thing is though if that one run results in a goal that could be the 1 moment that wins the match and that is what you get with flair players. Same with Pablo...

Re: Leeds Utd v Blackburn Rovers Match Thread - Bielsa names unchanged starting XI

Bamford showed tremendous courage to take the penalty. He would have been absolutely slated if he'd missed and if memory serves he missed his last one last season (after scoring one previously for us). The control was sublime for the goal, if Messi had done it they'd have been showing it on Sky Spor...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Tuesday 5th November) - Kiko charged by FA but strenuously denies allegation

Should Casilla be found Guilty, it be almost certainly mean that Illan Meslier will be thrown in at the deep end, and although the French International U20 has put together some stunning performances for the U23's, the Championship is a completely different kettle of fish. Islier has though played ...

Re: Today's Games

WBA just have a better squad then us and did much better transfer business. And Billic is class. We did well to beat them but imo the quality difference in the 2 squads will tell in the end unless we break the habit of a life time and actually show some ambition in January (WBA will). The differenc...

impossible to tell at the time but after watching this slowed right down frame by frame ( on 4.23 ) he may have been a fraction onside for me difficult one to judge as he was coming back . a shame really because he took it very well Looking at that I would say he was onside or at worst level.

Re: Leeds Utd v QPR Match Thread - Nketiah Injured, Bamford & Roberts Start

the early chance he could have hit with his left I don't think he could - the ball was coming from left to right so it was always going away from his left foot. To hit it with his left he'd have had to take it early and due to the keeper being so far out he had no sight or very little sight of the ...

Re: Leeds Utd v QPR Match Thread - Nketiah Injured, Bamford & Roberts Start

Was Bamford's goal offside? felt sorry for him as Paddy was unlucky not to score again in consecutive games. Would like to see a decent replay as looked marginal. A lot of abuse for Bamford on here yesterday especially for the chance where he took it round the keeper. People berating hi for not hit...

Re: Two Crucial Matches?

I think last week Eddie was perhaps a bit over keen to show Bielsa he can work hard and disrupt the defence so I would think he's just been told to channel his energy a little more conservatively this week. Indeed. Anyone can run around, chasing the ball, putting themselves about etc but he needs t...
