League Cup 1st Round Draw

Leeds United vs Shrewsbury Town

The draw for this seasons Capital One League Cup has been made with Leeds United drawn at Elland Road against League One club Shrewsbury Town. Shrewsbury gained to promotion to League One after finishing second in League Two last season. Their higest ever finish in the competiton was in 1961 when they reched the semi-finals.

All Football League clubs with the exception of Bolton and Blackburn who finished highest in the league last season will take part in the first round. They will enter the competition with the Premier League clubs, excluding the seven who have qualified for Europe, at the second round stage. The remaining clubs will enter the draw at the third round stage. Full details of the first round fixtures can be found below.

This year the League Cup matches will be the first of the season, games will be played during the week commencing 13th August 2012. However, if mutually agreed, The League will consider requests to play on Saturday 11th or Sunday 12th August 2012.

I really don't care. ALL that matters is our promotion push this season. It is possible I will be home to see this game tho - so hoping for a win and a good preseason work out for whatever players we have left - and that the Turner twins and Lenighan will play. :tup:
